I'm growing an Easter Lilly in a container which has no drainage outlets and it looks like there' some kind of moldy substance growing around the base of the plant. Every morning I scrape it off. Is it there because the water doesn't drain out? I wait for the soil to dry out before I water it again.

it's probably fertilizer leaching out. What you need to do is poke some holes or repot it in something that can drain, and water it until the water runs out the bottom, and then water it a little more. Then let it get nearly dry before doing it all again. Planting it outdoors would be even better, but don't expect blooms this time of year again, it's been forced to bloom early in a greenhouse.
