ZOZO and Ouija Boards/Paranormal, Supernatural, Alternative History, etc.

Yeah yeah, I am gonna sound like a complete fucking kook here, but you know what? I dont care.

Actually..this thread has multiple reasons for being here. 1. I want to relay a really weird story I heard, and 2. I would LOVE to find people who are interested in the same things I am, and exchange stories, knowledge, etc.

See, I study all things paranormal, occult, supernatural, I study anthropology and alternative history/archeology. I LIVE for these things, and my passion for them is unending. I am a virtual encyclopedia of weird fucking shit. If you are too...PLEASE message me...I would love to have someone to talk to about all this stuff.

Now..onto ZoZo...

My mom bought me an iPod touch for my birthday last night (although my bday isnt until August), and, I have been introduced to the wonderful world of Podcasts. As I was fumbling through all of the paranormal podcasts, I found a show called Anomalies, clicked on it..and one episode really, kind of, popped out at me. It was about Ouija Boards. Despite my vast and deep interest in these kinds of things, I have never, ever used a Ouija board.
This particular episode of 'Anomalies' discussed an "entity" that has been appearing, or popping up, or WHATEVER through Ouija Boards...all over the place. This kind of freaked me out. I dont really know what I believe regarding this thing.

Have you guys ever messed with a Ouija board? What about this ZoZo shit? Ever heard of it?

anyways I think its stupid to mess with Ouija board due to the fact that I like sanity over insanity.

 

because if a spirit from another dimension wanted to contact you, he would do it through a mass produced piece of cardboard made by milton bradley and sold at wal mart

 

I guess I might as well start messing with one. I think my sanity left a long, long time ago.

 

Well..that..certainly isnt the history of the ouija board. Not only that, but if we wanted to delve into "intent" being the cause of things happening..then..it wouldnt matter WHO made the board.

Well..just from personal experience I know that an objective opinion should come from two areas. Education, and experience. Instead of trying to make an argument where there isnt one...you could either try it..or...spare us!

lol... and i DID use one before, my sister got it for a birthday present when she was like 14, which would make me 11. i'm sure it's still sitting in a closet somewhere..

and for the record.. i've been living in this house for the past 16 or so years, built in the 1860's, secluded, burial plot just across the road, dude hung himself in a barn that is now burnt down, my dad found a shit load of dead animals buried when he was putting in the front porch... and everyone who comes here comments on how spooky the house is. a couple of my family members claim to have experienced things.
classic horror movie shit, however i have yet to see/hear/feel/smell anything that couldn't be explained by old creaky floor boards or what drugs are in my system at the time.

Is this the only experience you have ever had?

I do NOT have an objective opinion about Ouija boards. Why? I dont have the experience or the education to. I dont think using one as a preteen constitutes experience either, no offense. Based on what I have read there is quite a bit of ritual involved, which I think goes back to intent, etc.


I also wanted to add that the right aesthetics create a nice spooky atmosphere..but it isnt any insight on whether or not there may or may not be activity there. I think a lot of people rely too much on aesthetics when looking for a "haunt." When..there is no reason to.

i won't doubt that they could be interesting tools, but not for contacting the dead.
it has to do with self affirmation that you are actually contacting a spirit. kinda like the placebo effect. and the 'ritual' will put you into this mindset even more. but the only one who's moving that piece of plastic around is you, whether you're aware of it or not.

 

For the most part...I agree. I think. I think its also a lot deeper than that. Yes, the power behind intent and human belief is really fucking powerful and it can create situations beyond our imagination (look at the "power" of prayer, God, hell..all religion for that matter)...but....

This is where I get confused in my own beliefs. I do believe that spirits and other entities exist, in what context? I dunno. However, I also believe that we can contact them. Since we live in multiple dimensions, I would assume they do too. Sure, our physical bodies cant see them because..hell I dunno, they may exist outside of the human visible light spectrum or something for all I know..but...I DO believe we can contact one another...if not in another dimension we coexist in, then even this one!

Now, sure..it may be your hands moving that planchette...but is it the ritual, and the belief behind those moves that contact these entities? We can say that it is the mindset creating the atmosphere and our hands moving the planchette....but there is little attention ever paid to the supposed connections made. Do these things make those connections any less real? Thats where I get confused.

Then..if they are real..you gotta sort through the fakes and the reals and blah blah blah.

Ive been reading about this "Zozo" and..its really.fucking.weird.


edit: I just read that "Zozo" is supposedly Pazuzu. Kinda freaks me out a bit.

Actually, I think regardless of who makes the board and regardless of who uses the board, spirits don't communicate through Ouija Boards. This includes "ancient spirits" and modern urban legend spirits. This has been my experience with the occult. I have kept an open mind. I want to believe.

 

What if it isnt the board they are communicating through? The board is just the tool that the human puts the belief and ritual into.

And, I am not. However, Page was a huge fan of the occult. Which you probably know. He got the "Zoso" logo from a couple old grimoires..like..Le Dragon Rouge and "Le Triple Vocabulaire Infernal Manuel du Demonomane."
