I think that the zoo's time has come and gone. Years ago before tv and the internet I could understand their purpose, if you wanted to see what a animal looked like you went to the zoo. Now you can just look it up or watch animal planet and see all kinds of stuff. Maybe a zoo for rodents and reptiles would'nt be too bad but lager animals should be free.
I think that zoo's are animal prisons except the prisoners aren't guilty of anything. They were created to make it convenient for humans to view animals without having to go to the trouble of finding them in their natural environment. Lazy humans! You don't see the natural behavior of most animals in a zoo because they are in an unnatural environment. Unfortunately as long as people keep patronizing them they will continue to exist.
