Now, I don’t know that Jesus Christ was born Son of God on 25th of December, and I don’t know that the ancient Jews fired up the lamps for 8 days on one days worth of oil, but I do know that after today, the days get longer here in the Northern Hemisphere (condolences to our Digger friends Down Under). If that is not a reason to celebrate, then I don’t know what is…Light up and make merry…’tis Yule!!!

I smoke on every solstice and equinox. Maybe it's just a stupid stoner excuse, but I don't care. Sort of makes them special to me, thus connecting me to nature a little more. Happy solstice!

Jesus was born sometime in June-July. No one really knows the exact date. But the Germanic Pagans used to celebrate the harvest around Dec. 25. And when the Christians came, they replaced that with Christmas. In this way they united Europe with a common culture for a short period of time, but Europeans always find a reason to fight each other.
