I'm almost done with my degree. I have been thinking about what I want in this life. I've been asking myself if I should continue right through grad school. Then I was thinking about the thought of doing the "get married and family thing" type of thing. I feel like I'm at that point where I'm starting to feel the pressure to conform. I don't think conforming is a bad thing though if you do it the right way. For those at the end of your college years, what are your plans for after graduation?

I plan to apply for the Peace Corps immediatly after i graduate grad school. It seems like a great way to gain expierence before heading out into the real work world.

I was freaking out about this very thought this afternoon. ^_^

I would like to go to grad school, but right now I'm too overwhelmed with finishing undergrad to even think about it, plus I need to figure out how to pay for it, etc. So my plan is to spend a year just getting a job, living on my own, paying the bills. Partly to give myself time to chill out and have time to go through the process of figuring out grad school without all the stress of undergrad weighing on me, partly just to prove to myself I can do it. I really want to move to New York, Boston, or Pittsburgh (preferences in that order) because after all my years of living in rural areas, I want to go somewhere that has people and public transportation!

I was thinking about the Peace Corps yesterday, but I don't think it's the best plan for me, necessarily. And the "get married/family" thing is so, so far off in the future for me, if it ever happens at all. Having a life partner and children is so not what I want right now.

I'm going to graduate college after I finish a semester over the summer, so I'm excited yet fearful at the same time. I want to go to grad school, but going immediately after undergrad seems like a bad idea. I'm already sick of college and am graduating early, so I don't think that more intense coursework is going to make me like it even more. However, I'm sure that working will also suck, but it might provide the encouragement I need to continue my education.

The only goal I have is to travel. I've been looking at different job openings for native English teachers in Asia and think that's what I'll probably do right after I graduate.

I think I have my life "Figured" out. hahaha

I'm going to go to grad school for clinical psychology. Then I go for my doctorate in clinical psychology. The PsychD program. Ha, I want to be a doctor. Now I have to take my GRE's.

I want to be a Psychologist (Therapist)...and a Fashion Designer. I'll probably get to the designer portion first because it takes years to get a doctorate. I'm going to raise awareness in mental health and promote therapy rather than just meds (even though I know certain disorders do require meds like schizophrenia...there are others that could probably do without like depression). As far as fashion design, I not only want to design clothing, but I want to be an activist raise awareness on certain issues through this art form (all people are beautiful, not just the stick thin, blond hair, and light eyes look!).
I would love to travel, everywhere! I want my headquarters to be in Holland, the small boutique shops with the live-in upstairs portion...I would also like to live in a village in Nepal and eat fresh picked Goji berries :)
No marriage for me...but I would like adopt some children

This probably sounds completely ridiculous and unattainable to some, but it makes so much sense to me :)

actually I think a lot of schizophrenics could benefit from behaviorism paired with very low amounts of meds. Eventually the meds could be faded out.

I think your dreams are wonderful. You can do ANYTHING that your heart desires. You only set yourself up for failure when you truly believe that you can't do it. All I would suggest is for you to take a statistics, intro to psych, and abnormal psych in your undergrad degree. I'm missing statistics and abnormal psych courses so i have to take these classes in the summer in order to start grad school in 1/2009. I have student teaching in the fall.

    Thanks so much!
I'm taking Intro to Psych currently (I'm doing excellent!)...
I'm doing my paper and presentation on Self-Mutilation which should be interesting

...for the fall semester I will take the second part of Intro to Psych (which get deeper into diagnosing disorders) and the Abnormal Psych
I'll probably have to take a few math classes to get to Statistics as math isn't really my best subject :p
