Someone should paint this one. I was in a forest, standing by a log cabin, just enjoying the beauty of the woods. The scene seemed well crafted and manicured. Just below the log cabin was a cool, babbling brook that was so cool I could almost feel the coolness of it. Then, on the far side of the brook, a white stallion galloped past.

sounds good. mine entire world they are set in is mostly forrest although there are a few cities on it too. very interesting and twisty and without keep out signs. there are no locks or keepout signs anywhere in mine, just a few places to avoid out of courtisy when and because someone else is living there. i guess it's because people in my dreams don't demand my or anyone else's attention that locks and even fences aren't very much needed.

roads, trails, transit routes, and especialy very narrow gauge railroad tracks play a major roll in the landscapes of mine. and oriental 'japanese' gardens surrounded by forrests. even funkey sort of quasi-communes and homeless 'rez's and big strainge houses that arn't houses at all but like combination musium and casino and just all sorts of straingeness, even furry cons going on in them, and with elevators that become trains and vicy versy. all sorts of stuff like that. and all so totaly real. solid. you can actualy thouch and FEEL the textures. smell the smells and hear the sounds. the intigration of nature and tecnology in them is the most gratifying thing to feel and explore and experience. i just love that. and just the opposite of how rare that is in waking life it is common, even THE 'norm' in my dreams.

if i was alone more often so i could stay more focused on that sort of thing i could write about it more. at least i like to think that i would.

every once in a while when i am, i do. (like here, now)

That's cool. It's kinda like you have a whole dream world of your own.

do you guys see like images really clearly in your dreams? my vision always looks very peripheral and blurred when i try to focus... but I guess that speaks to the idea that you should let go more... hmm

sharp and clear almost always. periferal and blured, almost never. the only thing i can think of ever being blured in mine was one time i tried to read the lettering on the side of freight cars on a train going by and couldn't. but that's the only time i can thing of anything in my dreams not being sharp, clear, touchable, feelable, smellable, tastable, anything other then like in real life other then that the physics of gravity being different and a sometimes tendency to teleport unintentionaly. on the other hand of course almost everything is mutable. can be chainged in form, sometimes by merely wishing it so. but there is a geography that is fairly constant and consistent. transit routs and trains that always go to the same places and through the same places getting there, though the places themselves can and do, bit by bit chainge and evolve, just like places do in real life.

it's true though that nothing happens by trying to force it to. that is the one thing, if anything, MORE absolute then in waking life. and yes not what i would so much describe as letting go as just not trying to force things into expected and familiar forms. i can see how trying to force anything that way WOULD make it 'blury' and unclear.

i just love exploring what i don't already know that i would never consider trying to force it to resemble what i do. besides if i did that it would probably wake myself up and i wouldn't be able to get back to sleep.

for me, falling asleep itself, almost entirely depends on 'letting go'.

Miine was trippy as hell, yet also probably the most beautiful thing I've ever experienced...even if it was a dream.

I don't remember the events so well anymore, but mainly just the scenery. I was sitting in this house, on the deck which overlooked a large lake. It was nearing sunset, and there were moose swimming in the lake, with just their heads out of the water. I remember the beauty of the Vs of ripples flowing behind them on the perfectly still water. In the sky there were like, 5 suns, and you could sort of see their path in the sky, behind and ahead of them, like a multiply-exposed film. So that there were dimmer suns in front of and behind each of the 5 suns. It was like a kalidoscope, really, just stunning. The reflections on the water too, it was amazing. I remember also looking across the lake into the marshes and fields on the other side...the whole scene was just overflowing with color and life.

Though, it seemed somewhat like my vision was blurred (perhaps explaining the multiple suns) and I do remember having difficulty seeing (later in this dream). But that didn't diminish the beauty at all, it was like I was struggling to open my eyes, even though I could see with them closed...the struggle was more the problem than the closed eyes. That's actually a pretty common thing with me, now that I think about it: like my eyes are so heavy that I can't keep them open though I desperately want to.

five suns of varying brightness WOULD cast five sets of confusing shadows of verying densities, that could easily be mistaken for bluriness too.

(something that anyone growing up in a world that had five suns or sunlike light sources in its sky, would grow up being used to. life forms that evolved on such a world would probably have what to us might seem rather strainge eyes to compensate somehow for this. i can't say as i've ever been to THAT world, or any quite like it, though i've read of several.)

Wow, that sounds amazing! I dream about things like that while I am awake, but never sleeping. All I see is black while sleeping. Not much fun.

    Peace Out,

well, all the light was coming from somewhere else (across the lake...the real sun?) but these other suns were there too. I really can't describe it in any rational way. :H

And then, there was the one where I was standing under the shade of a huge tree, just grooving on a broad flat river as it slowly moved; as the sunshine glinted from the ripples; as it flowed around a large rock in the middle, and the insistant white, wet noise filled my ears.

    :)
