that is sound cory, not so far from leeds, but if i was to suppoort a team it would be bradford city or halifax town
Football tip- don't tell Leeds fans you like Man Utd, and vice versa. For instance Leeds refer to Man Utd as "the scum". However, they also revel in calling themselves "the scum" (atleast the ones I've known.. :-/ ) Their regional hatred has lasted since about the year 1400.. Its the North England equivalent of a Jewish Muslim...Kind of..
Oh god haha... I thought there was some kind of "hatred" there haha.. but on another note, i'm eating decent Chinese food atm!
I've really been enjoying Indian food lately. Cajun and Mexican are my go-to comfort food. I enjoy a good ole American steakhouse every now and again too. My husband is really big on German food, and lately, it's been growing on me. I make a damn good jägerschnitzel.
I always forget about dutch cuisine .. What would you say are some typical dutch dishes/foods? I've heard it's pretty straightforward..however, I recently watched Anthony Bourdain's "The Layover", and in the episode he was visiting Amsterdam, which changed my perspective. It's a very lively city and the food looked amazing! However, this is only Amsterdam. I'm curious to know what Holland is like outside of Amsterdam (the people/culture/food/etc).. a friend of mine said it's very beautiful :sunny: Mexican food is great.. I definitely want to visit New Orleans sometime.. where I hear the Cajun food is amazing.. (along w/ everything else lol).
I guess it is pretty straightforward. Stamppot is really dutch. Hmm, how to explain. The base is similar as mashed potatoes I think. The other straightforward standard dinner dish has cooked potatoes but whole, with some meat (pork or cow mostly) and of course some vegs like couliflower, broccoli or beets hahaa. Now that I think of it, most anything with cooked or mashed potatoes could be dutch (although the potatoes should be mashed like in a stamppot otherwise they are just mashed potatoes) Well it is better than it sounds
haha does sound pretty straightforward but delicious as well! :sunny: Reminds me somewhat of what my parents cook for dinner back home in Pennsylvania. We usually have somekind of meat portion (Steak, Pork, Chicken, Ham..) and a vegetable .. and a potato (baked or mashed). Simple but good! haha
