I get my strings from EUPHONON COMPANY in Orford NH. phone#888-517-4678
electric guitar strings are $20.50 for a dozen sets. .010 or .009 gauge.
acoustic guitar strings are $20.50 for a dozen bronze sets or $22.00 for phosphorus. .010, .012 or .013 gauge. They also have twelve string guitar, banjo and mandolin strings. No bass strings though, dad gum it.

Always used Ernie Ball Super Slinky's too. I should probably restring my bass, the strings have been on it for 20 some years.

I play bass. I like two types of strings.

    1. Nickel plated heavy gauge round-wounds
    2. Steel heavy gauge flat-wounds

I' think EB is popular because thats the bulk of most music stores. least the ones Ive visited. other brands dont seem to have singles as much as EB..

My favorite brands of bass strings are RotoSound, Fender, Ernie Ball, and various high-end shit that I can never afford.

I use Ernie Ball Power Slinky 11s on my electric. Might go back down to 10s sometime.

(not necessarily aiming this at you Orison, but the "dear reader")
No,no,no!...always replace all your strings at the same time.
If you have a string that breaks frequently and in the same place, there is probably something wrong with your guitar...
a burr or nick on a fret, improperly cut string groove in the nut or saddle,
or its riding on something sharp anywhere.
If you can't find it or don't know how to fix it (nut grooves are very tricky to cut properly without experience), take your axe to the shop.

I just put a set of light guage Martin strings on my acoustic because they were £1 cheaper than the Ernie Balls.
