You are sooooooooo awesome, because I was thinking about making a thread like this!

I don't have too many pictures of the town I live in... since it's not the most photogenic of places... but I'll get on it tomorrow and post!

    :cheers2:

I love the nelson-atkins. If there wasn't a fee for parking I'd go there all the time.

I was down by the Plaza a while ago at night and there were tons of people sittin around the JC Nichols Fountain...and it wasn't like a protest/gathering...just tons of people. Weird

raz, your ghetto looks like post-WWII Europe :|
That ghetto makes KC's ghettos look like middle class condos.

Artist Thomas Hart Benton's home. He built a lot of other homes, though. They were very pop art. I don't know if he is from KC, but he is a Missouri born guy. Was a real asshole though. Very bigoted supposedly. He inspired the construction of a lot of really cool houses though. His paintings are very eerily done. Cartoony, yet very lifelike.

raz, it is hard to believe that anyone actually even lives there, though. I don't think it is legal for anyone to live in conditions like that, by the looks of the outside, those buildings should have been condemned a looooong time ago.

Resize, but Charlotte, NC: Home of the Fags!
Why do you like the bank of america building so much? you should love it so much to get copies of the blue prints and then blow it up. Credit card companies are the devil

bank of america isn't really a credit card company per se ... but I agree we should get a fresh start.

thisisme - your suburbs look fuckin chill as hell. KC's suburbs are disgusting. subdivision after subdivision pockmarked with strip malls. my neighborhood is an older subdivision, back when it wasn't aaaas ugly. Throughout the mid 1900s there was a huuuuge movement of population in Kansas City from the city to the suburbs. Mainly due to violence and racism - the city actually had a mayor that was in the mafia, no joke. The mafia basically ran the city. During the depression teachers would have to take their pay stubs (they didn't actually get paid anything, just an I.O.U.) to the mafia and they'd get paid 50 cents on the dollar.

TNS - that mall looks a lot more chill than anything we've got in KC. It reminds me of The Legends - a huge project built in Kansas City, Kansas - it's alright but it isn't somewhere I'd hang out. But they've got an adidas outlet store where I can get kicks for cheap. haha

all outdoor mall type deal, they are popular in KC. The Plaza is a famous one

It was built like in the early 1900s I believe, in likeness to Seville, Spain (twang am I right?) and thus we are sister cities. Every Thanksgiving there is a huge event where they light all the christmas lights at once. Fireworks and stuff too.
