i read in another forum someone said that most of the people on these forums are 15 and jus wanted to be at woodstock, not very deep. (or something along those lines) i just wondered what you other younger hippies think of this because i personally dont see myself like that, i just want to be myself and (this might sound cheesy) help the planet and the people in it. i dont think its fair to say that just because we are young and havent experienced maybe as much as the older hippies that we arent deep and our thoughts dont mean much
I do feel like I sorta fall into that category. I do wish I was at woodstock and at the summer of love and all that but those days are gone. I still consider myself a hippie in the sense that I choose peace over violence and I also want to help the planet and the people in it. But anyway, I think if we want to see a change soon us 'youngsters' need to get together and start our own thing. We must draw on the older hippies' wisdom and learn what we can. We might even be able to achieve something better then what happened in the 60s.
i like your thinking, of corse it would be amazing to hav been at woodstock but we cant change the fact that we wernt, that doesnt affetc how we think. i deffinately think that we could achieve more now that weve seen it happen before but this time we know even more about the world
hannah flett, i tell you this - you're on a good path, you've got a wise heart and if you stick with following your heart, you'll always be with the peace of the Spirit... it's obvious they are judging, and simply learn from their mistake - you know they are wrong. dont ever judge, and instead, learn to unconditionally love. i know you have a WORLDDDD of love, and this comment is not to make you down or sad, because truly, there is no reason to. just keep following YOUR heart, and just keep loving. that's all =) blessings to you young sister, much much love. =) ~Ethan
yayyyyyyyy for bonaroo! im so going nxt year! ahh cant wait. but yeah, anyways...back to the matter at hand, Im a very deep person and I do consider myself somewhat a hippie. But thats not really what this forum is about. Yeah, its called Young Hippies and yeah, there are some hippies in here, but thats not really what its all about. I come here cuz i find it fun/laid back and the people are awesome. I go to the other forums to be deep.....
I don't wish I was at woodstock. I have my dad's memories and that's good enough for me. It sounds overrated, really... Although I hate to use that word...overrated..ugh..
Funny, I fit that description exactly a few years ago, and then I had an epiphany of sorts. Woodstock has come and gone. Now I follow the hippie philosophy, listen to hippie music, dress like a hippie, even somewhat talk like a hippie. But I am nothing compared to those who were actually there. You guys may think you're wise and experienced and that you know the world, and maybe you're more open-minded than your parents, but remember, maturity and wisdom come with time. I'm open to the idea that we're all just a bunch of ignorant youngsters living in the ghost of something that will never return...it might be true. We need our own revolution, guys, come on!
I'm fairly confident whoever posted that couldn't handle a real hard core discussion with a good chunk of us...... they'd just shut down and start spewing ingnorance :cough> moon <cough:
