You know why stoners are viewed badly by the rest of the world?

Because the majority of you people are idiots.

Kids living at home, skipping school and dropping out to smoke dope and try other drugs

then they go to a convention/protest and prove that the common "pot smoker" is nothing but a complete brain dead idiot who only further drives the point home that pot should be illegal.

People come on here and talk like they have so much experiance with life in general, that the choices they are making now are going to be sooo beneficial for their future, then they end up at burger king making fries

this thread mainly stems from Rangerdangers leaving, alot of you idiots should have taken a larger lesson from him, he was the best roll model a stoner could have ever had, now he's gone and because of that more kids are gonna grow up to be pathetic exscuses for human beings

now for people who didnt know ranger at all, the man was all self-educated, and made the choices in his life which made sense and always BENEFITED himself, even while looking out for others etc. he had a "niche" he had somthing he was better at then most, and his work was what he enjoyed, He was truely a smart man, perhaps not the wealthiest, nor in the highest of regards to most people i'm sure, but he had half a brain to live life in an effective manner and stand up for things he belived in and had the ability to back it all up.

Kids telling their parents not to worry because some other stupid pot heads on the net say it's safe, or just blowing them off because they dont want you smoking pot is foolish, and thinking you can change the way parents think or want to you behave is as well

these people provided for you, set you up for life, and you cant even fucking break a simple vice like smoking marijuana to better your life

i'm not saying with all this that people have to all go to university to get a degree, or make lots of money to be considered a "success" but at least make somthing of yourself that makes YOU proud

when you settle for a dead end job because it pays the bills, but you cant support a family, and your still smoking pot on a daily basis trying to juggle a family and a shitty job that has you stuck in the slums of society, you will look back and say fuck, Digitalldj was right, pot isnt the end all be all, Maybe instead of smoking that blunt back in english class i shoulda wrote that 1 exam and actually graduted.

almost all of my friends are stoners, still in school. My dad smokes pot and runs his own company and has made multi millions. Just because someone doesnt stop smoking pot while they're young doesnt mean that they will work at burger king. Pot doesnt make you stupid, thats just yourself letting it make you stupid. So all in all i think i agree with you that rangerdanger was a brilliant man at what he did and how he looked at life and benefited himself. But just because some kid gets angry at their parents for not letting them smoke pot isnt wrong, its human nature. I remember when my mom first found out i took a totally different approach and just said i stopped and kept doing it, now she lets me do it because she realised that i was responsible and stayed in school. IMFUCKING HIGH AND THIS IS MY RAMBLE.

I agree with you %100, digitalldj. I don't let my smoking get in the way of my grades though. I normally do my homework right after school and then chill with friends and smoke later that night. Heh btw I did the same thing as you parkman and told my mom I stopped and just kept doing it. What she doesn't know can't hurt her

 

Well Im glad you think "I'm" an idiot digital, I dont skip school, I dont drop out to smoke dope, and I work around 4 days a week after school....Though I agree many people will put this image out there I think you are being to generalized. I think many people who do stupid things tend to smoke pot, not that people that smoke pot tend to do stupid shit...get my drift?

 

I don't really think you are intelligent enough to be performing the role of god, Digitaldj, but nevertheless I agree with some of your points. A lot of stoners are just that, lazy fucking stoners. Generalising everyone doesn't do shit as history has proven. Civil rights, WW2, tons of things have been based on stereotypes, but not all black people smoke crack, and not all jews suck. So there's no point in your message.

One point I find hard to hold true at all is when someone says what you said about here:

too many stoners take pot for granted, yes it's a drug, and yes it feels good, but imo it shouldnt be a lifestyle, it should be somthing your simply incorperating into your life like brushing your teeth or washing your hair, it's somthing you do, you dont force it on people, nor do u condone it in some situations

if all stoners could actually think rationaly, accept other peoples views on it, and not jump down somones throat as soon as they bash marijuana, i guarantee you laws would be more lenient

but when you get a stoner who smashes some womans windows in her house because she said Marijuana is the devil

or some kid who comes to school completely fuckin ripped and brings down the rest of the educational system, thats where the "system" is looking down upon stoners and pot in general

it's those kids who get into car accidents with traces of pot on them, the kids who come to school stoned and wear bob marley shirts and rock hemp backpacks

the adults who rent out houses to sell dope to minors and the all around people who just dont RESPECT marijunana at all are the ones bringing it down for others, Remeber that next time and maybe have a little respect added to your habits

sure, i agree with you Digital to an extent. There are all to many people out there giving marijuana a horrible name...burn outs who flunk everything and skip out and are lazy as fuck. Personally, i think societys focus is on these burn outs and not those successfull types who smoke weed. The successfull stoners are not going to get any of the spotlight because what could what that do the government in terms of keeping it illegal. As for the "fuck the man" attitude, that is one of the dumbest things about potheads unless they actually take action and get involved politcally and do something about what they believe in.

Overall, well said and it would do many people on this forum some good to take some of that stuff to heart. Myself included probably.

Not every stoner who wears bob marley shirts, hemp bracelets, etc etc. is a burnout, a failure at school, a failure with life. You make me sick. Not that your insulting a general lot of people you don't even know, and I agree there are some people who should set the blunt down, but this kind of stereotypical thread is what brings stoners down. Not the burnouts, not the kid who smokes in the bathroom like an idiot (although they are contributing factors). I disagree with this statement completely. It is very important, if more lenient laws are what you are looking for, to let the facts on marijuana be known. While "jumping down someone's throat" is definately not a good thing to do, calmly expressing your own views is essential. I understand your view on not attacking those that don't smoke, but without conversation and debate, nothing will ever change. People's minds have to be changed

i made it all through high school with good grades and i'm in college now and i'm doing fine
i'm trying to do things with my life that will benefit me, like traveling and studying in another country, and i'm a stoner or whatever

i think that we're viewed as bad or viewed in a negative way because of the other younger kids that smoke weed and go out and do bad things, there are stoners like that.. but we're not ALL like that.

 

I didn't start smoking until after I graduated from High School, and I took a year off to work a little bit, and just by some shit. I'll start College in the Fall, but I really don't know what I want to go for. Most likely something in the medical field...

 

i didn't get high until i was in my 20's; i have some college under my belt and the lovely government is going to pay for me to finish & ya know what? i'm a stoner. i also vote.

He never once said every stoner is a burnout, but denying that a majority of them are would be downright ignorant. Stereotypes don't just pop out of thin air, obviously there has to be enough burned out potheads to create the stereotype in the first place. Digital is not acting like he knows everything, he's just using his brain to analyze why so many are anti-potheads view us the way they do. Could you give a better reason why? And saying 'because they are full of hate' or 'because they are crazy' or 'because they are brainwashed by the government' doesn't cut it. Sure they may be contributing factors, but even they have roots. People, in general, are lazy; if there's not benefit it's not worth the effort. People dislike potheads because of the burnouts, the dropouts, the ignorant, the idiots that smoke pot, and let me tell you, there's millions of 'em.

And by the way, attacking someone's credibility is weak; if you are going to debate a topic, stick to the topic, don't try to undermine someone's credibility, it's immature.
