Also sheriff Joe is currently being sued by the federal government, not form gross violations of human rights though, he won't hand over documents that will show aside from being incredibly abusive, his force is also incredibly racist.

 

the federal governmen's case against sheriff joe is also dissolving before everyone's eyes. he gets reeleted because unlike our federal government, he actually saves the tax payers money. how is sheriff's department inctredibly racist anyways? i don't see arizona's education system firing proffesors who teach classes based around mexican racial pride hat constantly belittles those not like themsleves.

he rounds up criminals, as sheriff of his respective jurisdiction. it's his JOB to apprehend law breaks. so pardon him for doing what he is paid to do. and god forbid he rounds up any of them for being mexican. criminals know no ethnic or racial boundaries.

you mentioned the word mexican well before i did. most people locked up did something to get there anyways. people die behind bars all the time. don;t like it? stay the fuck out of trouble. sheriff joe proves you don;t need fourty thousand dollars per head to feed, clothe and house inmates. all kinds of people live on far less than fourty thousand dolars per year. i'm tired of the fact a lot of hardened criminals get more rights than their victims do.

 

This is rather sad. I can't say I'm surprised though, seeing how much of a disaster the legal/penal system is over there.

The key word here is most. Not everyone accused of a crime is guilty and most people in county jails are Defendants, not convicted.

Do you have something against the American Constitution? Do you want to start considering everyone accused of a crime as guilty until proved innocent? Do you think a sheriff has the duty, or just the right, to execute a woman for prostitution?

Seriously, where do you stand on the right of an accused to have a fair trial before being punished? If you think it's OK to put someone in a hot box in the middle of the desert, how do you feel about cattle prods, or maybe a beating with a baseball bat for speeding? If that's OK, how about the cops just gun down people on the streets and save the taxpayers all that incarceration money.

Since you don't seem to like our Constitution and Bill of Rights, what would you replace them with, Mein Kampf? You do seem to be a proponent of Fascism and Storm Trooper behavior by our police.

I worked as an electrical engineer at a prison. I was astonished and still am at the abuse taken place at this correctional facility..
I had quit soon after that.. and funny how today its still in operation..

 

People die behind bars all the time, huh? And they should just stay out of trouble? Dude, you are confused. I have been to jail on a DUI, which I ain't proud of, but there it is. I was definitely guilty, and SSOOOOO DAMN HAPPY I didn't hurt anyone!! (I didn't have a crash, I was too drunk to realize that I was out of gas.) But, I did my time, and I ain't gonna do that shit again. But there were a lot of people in jail, there on trumped up charges. At first I thought maybe these people were just telling stories, you know, didn't want to tell the whole story of their crimes. But I heard SO MANY STORIES from so many guys, that they couldn't all be bullshit. This was in Collier County Florida, and Sheriff Kevin Ramboski was said to be tough on crime, just like Sheriff Joe. Fortunately, the jail was quite decent. especially when compared to what I have heard about from Maricopa. Anyways, my point is, I would be willing to bet that a lot of people in Maricopa jail don't deserve to be there, just like in Collier. And some of them might be mistreated. And even the people that are guilty, like me, would you support my being mistreated horribly when I was in jail for just a DUI. We all deserve basic human rights.

So, while I normally support tough laws, I don't know about Sheriff Joe. That link that Syd posted was scary. All those people that died in that jail. And that's not a state prison, is it? It's a county jail, right? So some of those people were there for misdemeanors, like me, right?
