If you enable your reputation/karma (in the User Options) you allow other members to comment and rate your posts on the forum. As your reputation increases, you too can rate other members. This has little effect for you other than to change the karma description when you scroll over the reputation light in posts. However individuals with a bad enough reputation/karma may eventually find their access to the forums limited. This is a very complex system that weighs many variables to calculate one's karma/reputation. It cannot be abused. If you try to abuse it, it will ignore your actions. So the best thing to do is to add to a user's reputation only when it's well deserved. But its not around anymore and I dont care.
