Got this in an email and wanted to share:

Perhaps when the Obaminites are in the gutter, begging for the supposed 'help' that will be available to everyone, finding out that "Hey! Too bad, dude! You made too much the past 3 years to be elligible!" and trying to find a new job in the climate that your hero has arranged just for you? It'll serve you right if your old boss tells anyone calling for a reference that he just gave you the Change you wanted/voted for! Wow. Wonder how long it'll take you to find a new job... :dupe:

He could have written this email to clear his conscience:

As the CFO of a firm which employees 140 people, I have recently tendered my resignation due to what is now my obvious incompetence. I had years of opportunities to shore up this firm against the inevitable ebb and flow of the economy, yet I failed. Now, when faced with a serious downturn, it is apparent that I never truly knew how to manage the financial operations of this firm, and my only saving grace was that government policy through the Bush years allowed cheap money to flow through the firm.

It is obvious to me now, at this late date, that my task as CFO was not to maximize short term profitability, but to manage long-term viability of this firm. This is a concept which I can not comprehend. I am now faced with a downturn in the economy, and I have brainstormed on what this firm can do to get through this time, and I find myself without ideas. The only option I can imagine is to cut 8 employees who have Obama bumper stickers on their cars, and this is proof positive that I am indeed unworthy of my salary as Chief Financial Officer.

"years to shore up..." blah, blah, blah ~

Except for one little thing ~ a stock market crash that no one had planned on, nor foreseen. Oops. Thank you, Dems ~ sure glad all those folks that couldn't afford homes were allowed to live the life of Riley for a while!

Since the company is still operating, i don't guess the CFO failed too badly in forseeing the usual downturns of the market. It's just that now, with the economy in the dumper, they can't afford to pass the increased taxes along to their clients

WHICH IS WHAT EVERY COMPANY WORTH IT'S SALT DOES WHEN ITS TAXES GO UP!!!

and so, now, he'll have to let folks go. Like no one saw that coming...

@ bold "this is proof positive that I am indeed" (speaking for YOURSELF) a total and complete idiot who cannot understand the very BASICS of how a business operates.

    Cripes, dude.

That is hilarious! :smilielol5: In all fairness, if Obama's tax plan affects the business to that extent, the people who voted for Obama should be the first on the chopping block. Or at least take all the Obama voters and let go of the least productive. I would love to see the look on their faces when that happens.

BTW, that sounds like a likely discrimination case. If I was management in that company, I would keep that policy quiet.

Probably fake, but that is definitely getting forwarded from my email this afternoon. I know some people that will get a kick out of this, and may take it into consideration. You know, my "ficticious" business owner friends. :)

    ROFLMAO!!!

Yeah, it's some sort of worst case scenario thing, but how fitting that the folks that wanted "Change," would get it, in spades (pardon the inuendo, if you think i meant anything by it, which i didn't ~ it's a flippin' SAYING, folks!).

It is spooky, though ~ not just for any Obaminites, but for all of us. What DO we do if we're 'let go?'

We really DID make too much money for the past X amount of years, and will not be elligible for anything...

WE should have planned for the future, and been our own CFO's, eh? Guess we sort of failed, too...

I don’t know about business? Last night I was having a beer or three with some clients/friends who are third generation business owners. Yes, a family business that has been around for over a hundred years.

We talked a lot about the economy. Business is awful, and getting worse. But they THINK totally different from the crap you and your imaginary CFO spew. Their business has survived the depression, wars, 20% interest rates and will survive the current economic downturn, as well as the one that will inevitably follow this one. They don’t live for the short term profit, they live for long term viability. They don’t say “if” the economy has a down turn, it is “when” it has a downturn. They don’t say “Hey we had a good year, let’s take a vacation to Hawaii” they think “we had a great year, we will live exactly as we always live and save that money for a rainy day.”

It is a wiser way to do business.

That email you are peddling is written by someone who is a complete and utter fool. Basically, I see you as someone who is standing there saying “Hey folks, we’re in trouble because we have a bunch of complete idiots as CFO’s running the companies of this country.” On that I completely agree. But where I disagree is that you see them as smart. I see them as short-sighted idiots who should be fired.

I feel lucky to have these friends. They are little tiny islands of sanity in an insane business climate.

Sure hope you're working for 'em ~ sounds like they've got every sitch covered.

    OOPS.

Wonder if they can withsatnd 4 YEARS of a bad economic situation? Maybe? Hmmm...

What about 8 years??? Looking a little bleaker, isn't it?

Hey! Best of luck to you and your friends! Sure hope Obama will see fit to help them out when push comes to shove, but if i was them? i wouldn't be holding my breath.

LOL you are just so...lacking of a sense of history.

When you’re family business was started by an immigrant who escaped Russia just prior to the revolution by clinging to the undercarriage of a stagecoach with a tiny bag of diamonds crammed up his ass, you don’t think the sky is gonna fall because Obama got elected.

i may lack YOUR sense of history, but having grown up all over the world, i like to think that i can see a little of the Big Pic. i wasn't propagandized in public schools; i have no sense of American geography; and i don't really consider myself just an American citizen ~ we are ALL, now, citizens of the world.

How do you think my forebears got here? Just waltzed in, on a red carpet? Not hardly.

Everyone here in America has to fight for what they want ~ with knowledge, with experience, with talent, with ambition ~ and doing it that way? WE ALL HAVE A CHANCE! To suceed, to fail, to learn, to whatever.

And, i mean, if you have a problem with that, what are you doing here, in this spithole of a country?

ps. Please note ~ i would never laugh at your opinion of anything, because you get to be you, and as a person, you deserve respect. Too bad you don't understand that about me...

Someone who happily promotes firing employees based on their political party does not deserve my respect. I use the term "LOL" to mask my true disgust at a post like this passing as a political discussion.

You Americans are strange bunch. With democratic government you often get lousy leaders, but without it you often get worse. Wait. Wait until he fouls things up before you cry. He may be a great president. I doubt it, but who knows at this stage. If I were subject to your laws I would worry about what change he was talking about. All change is not equal nor good.

    Exactly.

Part of the problem is Obama's history of associations with crooks and criminals, for me. i'd like to see some TRUE Investigative Journalism regarding his past.

i'd also like to see his Birth Certificate. i'd like to know that the man America elected to the highest office in the land is actually even ELLIGIBLE to hold that post.

i'd SURELY like to know whatever the rules are for whatever kind of game hiding any of the above are.

Dang! How hot does Australia get? Because, even though y'all are overflowing with females, i'd seriously consider moving.

My Dad has the right idea ~ he's been buying up land all around his ranch, just for us, his children, grandchildren and out-laws(!). i grow stuff; my one little bro can fix ANYTHING, and my other bro (who's also my son) is young, and can work the cattle we run.

(Sorry to cut this off, if i am ~ i need to make some dinner! ROFL!)

Please don't. Besides, we don't accept anyone who actually uses the term 'dang'.

Are you speaking for your country?

Or for your own, bigoted self?

So sorry everyone doesn't think like YOU do, but you know what?

    You suck.

    Goodbye.

ps. Your country has already offered me citizenship ~ as have several others. Oops. Guess you DON'T speak for anyone but your own, pitiable self.
