Hello people, this forum seems very inactive...

anyway, I was wondering if any of you could recommend a good ashtanga or power yoga DVD that is good for a beginner but challenging enough to keep me motivated. I've been doing hatha yoga for three weeks (twice a week) but I want to do something more active like ashtanga, but I'm still a beginner and all of the classes at the centre i go to are intermediate/advanced, also i want to practice more often, as twice a week doesnt seem to be enough for me now, but i cant afford more than two lessons a week.

I'd really appreciate your help. peace.

ok people i found one, it was a bit pricey but it's so great, it's called ashtanga yoga, primary series all levels by mark darby and Nicole Bordeleau...it contains 90 minutes of primary series, a 30 minutes short form (perfect!) and a 10 minutes short practice mainly consisted of sun salutations, its really good to do in the morning. another good thing is that its in both english and french, Mark offers the more advance alternative whilst nicole performs more beginners variations which are suitable for all levels.

I only tried two ashtanga/power yoga DVD's, so I don't have anything to compare them to, but they were both quite good. First is by David Swenson, second by Rodney Yee.

Anyone ever notice that Rodney Yee always finds a way to show off his package??

    LOL!!!!

I thought it'd have subtitles but it doesn't. I saw your post about yoga dvds with subtitles and i was going to suggest this one but i wasn't sure if it had subtitles until i received it.
