Someone really needs to get my two year old into something else... he's obsessed with Gabba and it can be a little too catchy for me...always dancing to it with him *my two year old* etc... it's super cheesy but I have fun with it but really..enough is enough.
I watched it for the first time earlier this week, however my little girl is too young to be into television. I've heard before that toddler through preschoolers love the shit out of this show though.
its better than spongebob. we have spent SO much money buying cartoons that we watched as kids. just got the magic school bus, hes loving it.
My boyfriend puts it on sometimes when he's at home alone with the baby but I don't know why because our baby is 6 months old and could care less. The consequence of this is that it effects my baby in no way, and meanwhile my boyfriend walks around singing silly things like, "lets get the wiggles out!" The only thing i really know about it is MGMT appeared on an episode and did a song. That's pretty cool.
I like Yo Gabba Gabba, but probably because Sophia is not obsessed with it. She's not really obsessed with anything other than cats and dinosaurs.
Bear in mind that how you talk to your kid, even long before they can talk, and the type (and amount) of TV they watch, and all that sort of thing, really affects how (and how quickly, and fully) they develop as people. Just because they don't understand things or care doesn't mean it won't effect who they become, from appreciation of music to morals and emotions. Also, always remember to talk to your kid, no matter how young, like they're a pupil in a graduate level class, and you're the professor.... Or maybe, like they're the professor, and you're the student.
and there's a party in my tummy...so yummy so yummy yummy carrots wanna go to the party in my tummy? well, do green beans wanna go to the party in my tummy? allllright =D and oh man looked up with my two year old today all the gabba stuff on youtube. lots and lots...
Get the sillies out? Hahaha! Me and Case (my two year old) looove dancing to that song. "Jump! Shake! Shimey them out!"---- should see my son jumping to that.. it's awesome.:daisy: and yo gabba was at Coachella w MGMT and all kinds of awesome artists. There is some really good music that goes on gabba. and I happen to love the aquabats.
Ohhh I'd sing it with ya! I'm singing it right now..... (but yeah if you didn't know the song you'd be like...hmm...yea...okay.)
I just saw this for some reason. You're preaching to the choir brother. I get onto my boyfriend all the time about having the tv on when little one is in the living room. I grew up on no tv and I can't fucking stand having it on unless it's one of the few tv shows I watch and I don't watch those around my baby. I can't really stop my boyfriend from having the tv on when I'm not there unless I want to turn into super bitch mama bear. I also don't really do baby talk. You have to change your tone because babies respond to a soothing tone or a sing song voice but I'm very careful to use words and proper sentences instead of baby talk. I read my textbooks out loud to him when I study lol. My family never altered our speech or dumbed it down around my nephew, I've been having adult conversations with him since he was 3 and he's a pretty fucking brilliant teenager now. He speaks and relates really well to adults.
