i know they're brilliant. I was talking about the show;the stage setup, and how good they sound live.<3
But from the 1st album to Relayer is just mindblowing!!!!! Although I think the strings on Time and A Word are a little too obtrusive, to say that the least.
man, are you fuckin retarded? what about the slide guitar work on going for the one. and what about Awaken? damn man. you sadden me.
You're SURE it was the ORIGINAL Yes? I thought one of them left us. To answer your question, I love them. Good Band!
no it wasnt the origianl Yes, but it was a classic lineup: Steve, Jon, Chris, Alan, and even though i hate him, Rick.
no to yes they wanted to be the moody blues but got there to late .soft machine was there before the moodys and then there was hawkwind it's all well done but where is it going .where it been the same place it started . go back to past to find the future find the invetor not imitator .
I caught them back in the Rabin years ...even so, one helluva show. Alan & Chris did the infamous "Whitefish" solo, and I just about had a hernia on the spot. These days they always seem to be one town ahead of me, so I haven't seen them in ages. (whips out HippieBabble dictionary to decipher above post) Got your drift hippo. Grinchin the Moody's groove ain't smooth. But the invention's a bone of contention. I've been to the past, been to the future. Same place, different zip code. JS Bach is alive and living in LA playin Sloppy Joe's for free beer and cigs. Lost the wigs. Dumped the Stradavarius for a Stratocaster! Full circle baby full circle...
I meant after Going For The One! That's a good album, but that was probably their last good album, although Tormato and Drama have their moments.
spaceduck, you always and forever will be the man, after Steve of course. and i never heard any band in my whole life that had the same sound and talent as YES. and hawkwind and moody blues are not about the same thing. Yes is completley in their own world. it just seems to take a long time for slow people to pick up on it if they even can at all.
lol wow, of course i`m SURE it was the real Yes, 150$ a ticket, its the real thing baby. It was all worth it.
You're the man for callin me the man! But you're right, Steve is THE MAN. Unless we're talking about bass. Then Chris is the man. Man there are lotsa "the mans" around here. No joke I bet Tony Kaye & Bill Bruford are pissed because they were the originals (and damn good, too) but I agree the ultimate Yes lineup is AWWHS. Funny, coz when you think about it, they only did 2 albums with that lineup, not including their recent stuff. And not including any errors of misjudgement they may have committed in 1978
chris definitley is the best bass player i ever heard! i love when he follows steve. did you know he arranged all the chorus stuff they sing? all about steve though. i think ill now end every post with: all about steve though. it works for me.
