Hi all, I know this is a forum for going barefoot but let's all be honest except for a very few people we all need to wear shoes sometimes! I have just discovered Xero shoes and in particular their Genesis sandal:- Genesis Barefoot-Inspired Sandal - Men - Xero Shoes Without a doubt they are the closest to being barefoot I have ever found. Also easy to put on and take off and weigh hardly anything! I am in no way connected or affiliated with this company. I just thought I would share
I have never tried them but they do look comfortable. On every hot days like this week it’s going to be 105 degrees Fahrenheit where I live that means the black top and cement is going to be 200 degrees Fahrenheit that’s a little bit hot . Maybe I should look in to those shoes??
Say it ain’t so!! Barefoot Rick is going to defile his feet with shoes???lol Actually, no sense risking severe burns to your feet that could undo years of toughening your feet and prevent you from enjoying going barefoot. I am committed to going barefoot as much as possible. Over the past 60 hours I have been barefoot, except for two hours. When I do wear footwear, I try to wear barefoot style shoes that have thin soles, wide toebox, and flat.
I’m thinking about it but I really don’t think I’m going to buy any shoes, or sandals . Even my doctor asked me if I’m going to wear something on my bare feet in the hot weather and I said no .
I’m a fan of Xero shoes. My winter boots (snowy, icy and yaktrax are my friends) and two pair of work shoes are theirs.
I have been wearing Xero shoes for several years and i am very happy with them. I work in a hospital and footwear is required. I have a pair of boots, dress shoes and regular running shoes. They are of good quality and have lots of room in the toe box.
I love going and being barefoot has much as possible. Now that I am retired I can be barefoot most of the day, sometimes all day. However, there are physical activities that I do from time to time that shoes give my feet protection and comfort so my feet don’t become injured preventing me from enjoying my feet. I have a pair of zero dress shoes and they are comfortable and they satisfy the cultural expectations of people.
I have tried barefoot shoes and flip flops and my feet just can’t handle having shoes or flip flops on . 33 years going completely barefoot all year around my bare feet just can’t have anything on them
I have to admit, those Xero sport sandals look comfy. This coming from a guy who usually doesn't care about sandals much.
I have to say that they are incredibly comfortable. Sometimes when I wear them I forget that I am not barefoot. The soles are only 5mm thick so you can still get some feeling from the ground. Of course nothing will ever replace going barefoot but when you have to wear something on your feet as if the ground is just too hot these are as good as it gets.
