Has anyone been wwoofing before? If so, where? Did you learn a lot about organic farming, or were you treated more like a laborer? Any positive or not so positive expiriences on specific farms? Did you go alone or in a group? In case anyone's interested, here's the website: http://www.wwoof.org/
Hello, I did some wwoofing in germany on a ecologic farm. Its called the vlierhof(www.vlierhof.nl) but the website is at the moment only in dutch. Anyhow's i learned lots about ecologic farming. I learned how to make and bake differents kind of breads and did lots of experience in cooking. Cutting onions for 30people is crazy They grow all there vegetables themselfs and eat vegatarian. Once a week some people eat fish. The atmosfeer on the vlierhof is amazing its really a place where you can be yourself. You work 6 hours a day in a relaxed atmosfeer. No drilling, no looking eyes to check if you work hard enough very positieve energy. In the morning meetings people are evaluating what to do for that day. On the vlierhof there is also space for ideas wich could add something to the community. some keywords; moon dancing, singing, drumming, spiritual festivals, satsangs, beautifull enviroment to have walks, to do meditation and so on. for me the atmosfeer was so good that I am moving there this friday and will live there for at least 6months. Feel free to drop by
It totally depends on the farm. It's a good idea to ask a lot of questions about the type of work you are going to do and get a feel for the place and the people who run it before you go...and if it ends up to suck you just leave! I've been on good farms where I'm treated like and some where they are stingy on the grub...just depends
