ive only had one cavity my entire life and the filling is coming out. did this ever happen to someone? this is not cool.
I think that all filings finish by falling off. I gotta say that I'm mighty lucky - 38 years old and I never lost one filling. I do know that it's gonna happen one day. Does it hurt? See your dentist asap!
Yes. It happens all the time, I'm told. How long ago did you get the filling? Oh, and in the meantime, do you have any oral anesthetic? You're going to want some. And some heavy duty over the counter pain-killers.
it hurts a little. i noticed it cause i bite down on something metallic. um i only got it two years ago.
That happened to me twice. Amazingly...the metal fillings I've had since I was a kid haven't fallen out. But the 2 white ones (I don't know what they're made of, but they're made to not show) fell out within a year of getting them. It sucks.
The newer ones don't seem to last as long. I don't know why. Anyway, it seems that fillings sometimes expand and contract a bit and that creates an opportunity for more decay to start up in there. My dentist says it's pretty standard practice to have to replace fillings once in a while.
