It doesn't seem like a very practical piercing.. you should really consider if you really want it before you get it. It will probably get in the way and get snagged a lot (And I'm not just saying this because I hate wrist piercings, although I do). I got my nape done and my dreads are constantly getting caught on it. I couldn't imagine braclets, clothing and more getting caught on a piercing.. that would be very painful (expecially surface bar piercings).

my nape did well with my long hair..
my stomach.. is quite annoying since i dont wear low pants.. it seems to be startin to heal nicely..
when my hair catches my antieyebrow.. thats a bitch

wrists could catch on a lot.. could get quite annoying/painful.. depends how much you want it

If your friend's not a professional piercer, then you're retarded and deserve to have it reject.

And think twice. When it gets caught on something and rips out, you might not want it. How big into the scene are you?

toolmaggots always very straight ot the point

but i agree, if your friend isnt a piercer who knows what he/shes doing (even if they think they do) they shouldnt be piercings you. especially a unusual surface piercing. and i dont see them as having jewellery suited for it either..

ripping out aside, if its getting performed dodgily, and with a straight bar or something, theres a very very high chance itl reject.. do you really want those scars on your wrists? and theres always the medical cautions with gettin a unclean piercing..

Fucking aye.. I know ONE person that has a wrist piercing that has healed. EVERYONE else I know that has a surface piercing in the wrist has had it reject!
And I can't believe that you would let your "friend" pierce you, I can understand (MAYBE) your ear, but a surface piercing?! Are you nuts?
Is your "friend" going to pay for you hospital bills if you get an infection or nerve damage from her piercing it incorrectly!?

yeah.. surface piercings are a lot more complicated..and reject very easily, especially without the right stuff..

and well, im getting into piercing, have done many on my self, and have a decent chance at a very good apprentice ship next year.. but no matter how much i pierce myself i wouldnt pierce a friend (or anyone other than me.. ya know..).. ok maybe something like an ear.. but wouldnt exactly recommend it.. its just plain dangerous and stupid to let a untrained person pierce you, no matter how much they think they know about doing it. stupid of you, stupid of them.

Hm. Tell us how this goes.

Wait. They don't allow laptops in hospitals, do they?

Now I'm not even just being an asshole. That's an absolutely terrible idea. Like somebody said, is she going to pay for your hospital bills, too?

Jesus titty-fucking Christ. Quit smoking weed for a month and use that money to go get it professionally done. That's not too hard.

I think what people are trying to say underneath all the sarcasm is that this is a very bad idea.

Surface piercings are not a thing to be playing around with. To put it in perspective, a lot of professional piercers who work in shops will not do surface piercings. They know enough to know they don't know enough. Your friend can't just "read up" on this and have a successful attempt.

Anyway, the only two reasons I can see for not wanting to go to a professional are money and the fact that you're underage. If its money, just save up ten bucks a week and you'll have the cash in a month or two. If its the age, you really should be waiting and not jeopardizing your health.

    Good luck

    Peace

atleast some piercers are good enough to know theyre not good enough.. a few places locally just think theyre a piercer, so they can do it. knew of a local place that just put straight or very slightly bent bars in long surface piercings.. just plain ol heavy surgical steel.. and well.. lets just say from what ive heard they have a very high rejection rate.
