i was talking to this girl in class the other day. i dont know how i got on the subject but i was telling her about how the all oil is going to run out and the oil companies are holding patents so that when they do run out, we will have to buy it from them for outragous prices. she thought i was crazy, she said that isnt going to happen and how itsnt even bad for the environment. then she told me i was always being depressing.
    does this worry anyone else?

Butanol will burn in a gasoline engine, do so very well, and is not patented.

  4. I'm sorry for you. You'll meet people that actually use their brains soon enough.

We're not that short yet, theres still plenty left, i think we'll have to stop using it for environmental reasons before we run out. The more worrying thing is if we do run out where we'll start digging to get the dregs out, Antartica and Alaska spring to mind.

source and supply are quite different.
I think since the value of land over a smallish but middlingly useful amount of crude (ANWR) is greater to the majoroty of people paying attention, and we are holding to that even as the industry and pro petrol industry legislators try again and again to get drilling there, that we have reached a point where we as the US nation say : hey, it is time for technology to step up with alternative fuels sources, exceptionally better mileage and a change in driving habits (all habits can be broken).

I do think that before ANWR gets put on the table that industry is responsible to create a situation where the remaining crude, let alone CO2 blow out, is used to its highest potential and for the longest time.
The day of the biod D hummer should be upon us.
I ask why isn't it and get whistling leaves in response so far.

the earth is going to be fine as long as people stop doing things and leave it alone.
