Would you have sex with someone to save your life?

So tonight I watched an episode of 'Taxi' because it was about Andy Kaufman's (I'm a huge fan) character 'Latka'.

Essentially Latka and this woman thought they were going to freeze to death. Well, this woman proposed the idea that they have sex in order to raise their body temperatures and keep them alive.

Long story short, they had sex, they lived and Latka had to tell his wife what happened and she freaked out.



So, hip forumers, do you think that if you were in a similar situation, where it could potentially be life and death, would you do the same? Would you expect your significant other to understand if you did?

 

Yes to save my life I would.

I don't have a so but I've not dated a woman yet that I would expect to understand.

 

Technically shared body heat would be enough but in for a penny in for a pound?

I really am not sure if I could justify to myself that it had to be but if I took out that it was not for a noble reason, probably not. Now if hormones get playing about, maybe. Or the emotions that would go with thinking that life was over, maybe.

I have a feeling my partner would ask me about just sharing body heat instead and there would probably be a problem there with any answer.

If it were reversed I would probably feel the same way.

I guess if it happened it had better then be pretty great if it was going to cause that turmoil after.

 

Of course I would do it.

I would understand completely if my spouse did it (atleast I like to think so). I could argue that taking off your clothes and using body heat would be enough, but the truth is that without the movement: it may not be. I would probably be hurt on some level, but I couldn't ask someone to risk their life just because I have a slightly possessive nature And as long as it was a completely emotionless act, we're cool.

as for the question, of course i would have sex to save a life. i don't see how that's even a question. really, as much as women confuse me, nothing about them even comes close to stupifying me as much as the concept that being raped is worse than being murdered. i mean one is two people touching parts of their body together, and the other one is somebody never having the option to do anything whatsoever again, no matter what.

 

Yes, although in that particular situation it would probably be counter productive. In very cold situations body heat is best maintained by keeping the air close to the skin warm and, in any case, sex is not actually a particularly energetic activity compared with most exercise forms. You'd get warmer jogging on the spot. The movement and the nakedness involved in sex would increase airflow and simply cool you faster... You could simply press against each other for warmth - that would lower the exposed skin area for both of you. #pedantic
