I hear people are making good money working in Iraq , would you do a job in a dangerous place for high wages .

would you work in Iraq for £600 a day with the risk of being captured and having your head cut off .

    what about £1200 a day or £2000 a day

    what are your thoughts

Mmmmm would it ultimately make me happy.
Last time I checked aid workers earnt peanuts if anything - just a roof over your head and a bit of food.
I'd not want to do something just for the money - no matter where it was.

So NO i'd not do a dangerous job for money - unless it was ultimately helping other people.

ok ok no need to *puke* i'm being serious.

I wouldn't say just for money, but I think having a dangerous job for the sake of helping people is something I would do. For example I'm going to college to be a photo journalist, which depending on who I am working for could result in me being sent to dangerous places, but it is something I look forward to doing, and something I think is important - to share what's going on in the world.

But if it was down right dangerous and not something I cared for, then naw, I'll pass.

I wouldnt work in Iraq for thousands of pounds a day because I dont think we should be there. However an ordinary dangerous job Id do..Like taking samples from the top of an active volcanoe, give me £10k and ill run up and down a few times.

Obviously this is a hippy forum and so would not represent the consensus of the wider world. I also, would not build prisons.....ahem, I mean airbases in afghanistan, on principle.

I would not work in Iraq, well forget the principles, I'd be shit scared, so money must mean more to some than others.

btw, I believe you can earn £1000 per day simply working as an electrician in either country. Tax free if you are there long enough.

I wouldn't do it, but the above is why I'm sure there is no shortage of people willing to go and do this.

I have done a dangerous job for money, commercial fishing. You get no sleep and have to go out in storms. But the money was like 5k for two weeks, I only did it twice though :(

There was a Kids morning TV show called MoM (Ministry of mayhem) and it RULED! One of the little games that they had was called Ram Ray.

There are 5 doors, one is made of paper, the rest are made of wood. A person calls up and tries to guess witch door is the paper door. When the caller picks a door, They then use a Dwarf (Called ray), dressed in full body armour to run full tilt into the door that the caller had chosen. If the door is paper, he crashes through and the caller wins a prize. If the door is wooden Ray bounces off the door and the caller walks away empty handed.

    I'd do that for money...

What percentage would you take say would you do it for a month if there was a 50% chance of you being attacked and maybe held hostage and have your head slowly cut off would you go for it .

They might give you a gun for self defence but you could still end up dead .

What if there was a 10% chance of you being attacked or kidnapped would you do the job for a month at £2000 a day

I would do it on 10%, I like how dangerous it would be, i'd rather do that for a month than grind my life away in a factory for however long it would take to make that sort of money. I'd probably do it for longer than a month as I'd get addicted to the thrill of surviving in such a harsh enviroment. What about you Johnny? Would you go for it, what if the chance of being taken hostage was 50% but you were paid £12000 a day? Could i tempt you?

well a 50% risk isnt really worth £12,000 a day because it wouldnt take many days before you would get killed .

and if you look at your potential normal life you would have a much better chance of making that money if you didnt take the 50% risk .

I understand the adrenaline thrill of doing something crazy dangerous , I have done quite a bit of that in the past and still now and then do that sort of thing likely out of boredom or depression god knows why really .

but in the past I have crashed and burned and had experiences where I should have died which again can be great fun at the time, but gradually your body takes on scars and you know you only have so many crashs left maybe no crashes left before you do die .

so anyway for a 50% risk Id want a hell of a lot more money and I dont need money now so it would be mainly for the fun of the risk, and I dont feel I need to do that at the moment, maybe when Im much older , I dont fancy slowly withering away so when Im 80 I think that would be a good time to take crazy risks

Haha, good answer! I do actually need the money though so I'd still do the £2000 a day at 10%...so are you recruiting or not?!

I applied to join the army a few months back in the combat unit but I wasn't accepted to go ahead with the training due to my eating disorder, me being vegan.
