Hi, Don't have an airing cupboard or a heat mat, but want to start growing. Outside temps are 16C/60F during the day and a low of 7C/44F at night and will improve as we're getting into Spring. Also the central heating will be on in the morning and evening. My strain is Brazil. Anyone see problems for a good grow with the temps here? Thanks, NN
Unless you are sure it will get warmer during the day I would keep the central heating on all day during the growing and keep it around at least 22 C (71 F). But just to be sure.
Incubating should be at 80-85f...... Any cooler then that and it will greatly slow down your spawn colonizing. Fruiting should be 75-80f.. And cooler then that and it will slow down your flushes. Best incubator is a 10 gallon aquarium heater sealed in a 1 gallon milk jug full of water........ Put this into a cooler or a sleeping bag with your jars....... Monitor the temp with a digital thermometer that records high and low temps...a few times a day and adjust the heater until it sit around 85F.
Hi, thanks for your answers. Slow colonization is not a problem as such, as harvesting will still come quicker were I to start now compared to say waiting another month. My query is more to do with risking the spores in these cool temps and ending up with nothing. NN.
