what would you say is the worst Floyd album? Id say The Final Cut, the only song i like on that album is Post War Dream I can definately appreciate all the ability that went into Ummagumma, but i personally dont like that album that much
oh yeah, i always forget about that one.... cant forget The Division Bell and A Momentary Lapse of Reason though
i don't like the late stuff.....Dark Side and earlier all kick ass.....everything past it kind of sucks......i personally don't like the Wall....
i like every album in its own way, but yeah momentary is probably my least fav. but, i still listen too it. obscured by clouds is kind of boring i agree, but at the same time it is the background for the movie so its understandable
obscured by clouds is an underrated album, such a gem, in my own opinion....... it sounds like no other floyd album..... its just a mellow, folk album, pretty much..... Im glad I can have it all to myself, since no one else here likes it..... nick mason and storm thorgerson both have said it was their fave as well.... the final cut is better than most people think too...... actually, dare I say, its better than the wall?? its mostly outtakes from it....... still quite a bit underrated album if you ask me. worst one by far is a momentary lapse of reason.
Yeah I really dig Obscured By Clouds tooo and I dont see why many people dislike it. Childhoods End, Free Four, and Stay are my favorite songs from it. I disagree with you about The Final Cut though, it isnt terrible but it isn't really good. I do still like The Wall better, cause there are a few songs I really like from the wall such as Goodbye Blue Sky, Comfortably Numb, and The Trial. But the out take from The Wall and from The Final Cut "When The Tigers Broke Free" is a good song. From The Final Cut "The Fletcher Memorial Home" and "The Post War Dream" are my favorite but there are also songs I dislike.
theres not a single song on the final cut that I dislike, except get your filthy hands of my dessert......damn I need to listen to that album again...... actually I like the film soundtrack better than the actual wall album..... when the tigers broke free and what shall we do now? are awesome tracks..... and hey you is excluded, which is fine by me.... fave songs from obscured for me has to be wuts uh the deal, free four, childhoods end, mudmen, stay
\ i totaly agree i think its over rated.......the movie is pretty good thou....but besides that the album only has a few good songs
I kind of wonder that too..... that song was included during their wall tour 1980... maybe due to time constraints?
If i had to go so far as to say which floyd album is the worst, which is not an easy thing for me, I would probibly have to say A Momentary Lapse of Reason, only because it is my least favorite album. I own it, and still liston to it, but i enjoy all of there other albums more. And for all the talk about The Final Cut and the Division Bell being bad, I believe they are both the most underrated floyd albums.... The Division Bell was the first CD I ever owned, and my first experience with the Floyd.....
I think The Division Bell is a very good album, it's got some great songs like High Hopes and Coming Back To Life. My vote would probably go to A Momentary Lapse Of Reason. I don't think it's a bad album... in fact I like it.. but just not as much as I like the rest of their albums. By Pink Floyd's standards it's not a great album, but it's alright.
I really don't think that any Floyd album is bad, but I would like to state here that I don't really enjoy anything after Animals. I don't really like The Wall, but I have the live album (Is There Anybody Out There?), and it kicks the original's ass 100 times over! Floyd were always so much better live and it really really showed on ITAOT. I don't mean to offend all of the fans of The Wall, but I'm just more into the late 60's-early 70's psychedelia. That's all. That is one reason why I like The live Wall better, is that alot the songs are stretched out and jammed on and given the proper Floyd treatment. Best examples; Brick Part 1, Brick Part 2, Young Lust, Brick Part 3 into The Last Few Bricks, Comfortably Numb, Run Like Hell. The rest of them are pretty close to the originals but still good because of the slight differences in live sound.
Reading what I said months ago about The Final Cut, my opinion has really changed. The album as a whole has grown on me and I love the title track. My vote for MLOR still stands though cause well, that album hasn't grown on me...
