Hey i need to know, i've been doing my dreads for about ... hmm about three weeks and i'm playing loads and rubbing and doing everything i know how to do.. i haven't used wax or bands or any kinda of dreading product... how am i doing.. i'm worried i'm not treating them well enough.. help! (i know it takes a looong time, don't worry i just want to be sure i'm doing right by them?)
*smiles* Chill babe. They look fine. what looks cool is the backs forming on its own. You remember how my hair looked at 2 months?? if not i will get you pictures. but trust me they will look SUPPER DUPER scarry and scruffy for about 3 months... i took to stopping playing with them and forgetting they were there... Then a few months later i looked and wowsy they were begining to look like reall dreads. From the pics babe they've allready come along way from the first pics you posted
yeah you'll be fine mine look exactly like yours at this point(also almost 3 weeks) - my roots are really flat and things like that - but i think theyll be fine
mine are about the same.... had them for about a month now... i think yours look better than mine tho. i should work more on mine, i end up tying them back alot for work.... but i should let them be free!!!!!!!!
yeah i gotta real bad habit of always tieing mine back too cause i was so used to doing that when my hair wasnt dreaded - i need to let it down way more often
hehehe thaaankkk yoooouu... you've cheeer'd me up... some people i met kept pickin at them and quizzing me on "what the hell was i actually doing to my hair anyway" and worrying my that i wasn't doing it right! i'd not worried till they said stuff.... which is silly really cos i then realised one of the girls had her dreads manifactured so she'd never had to go through the fluffy faze and so she didn't really know what she was talking about.. weeooow...! i love my mess right now! hehehe...
Hehe babe dont worry about cat, she knows nothing about dreads she really doesnt. I think they are a fashion accessory to her.... sad but true.
Aye, like Fleassy, mine looked like poo for a few months.. Just let them do their thing. Roll 'em between your hands, play with them a lot.
