I just ordered 20g of powdered wormwood from an online store, but I'm not quite sure what to do with it. I usually smoke a shitload of cannabis and drink a fair bit. also have had psychedelic experience, so I'm not really "new" to poisoning my body (lol) so anyways, what is the best way to ingest wormwood. I've heard I can soak in a bottle of vodka, then drink (like absinthe), smoke it (alone or mixed with mj), eat it, snort it - altho that would be pretty fuckin dangerous, umm i think thats all I know. So my question is, what is best. what will give stronger effects and last longest aswell as be most convinient???
I smoke my wormwood, but its not powdered. a few bowls of wormwood leaf gives me some visual distortion, as well as a certain feeling that could be placebo. it lasts a few hours, and is quite convienent. as for your absinthe-like bit, go check over in the potent potables subforum a few down from here.
ya thujone has never been shown to be psychoactive, but wormwood has time and time again been shown to be at least subjectively effective, even in university studies, (no source sorry, but thats what I've read somewhere). just ignore the guy above, it seems he has no useful info but still wanted attention.
just recieved the wormwood. the desciption at the store was "powdered", but what ive recieved is more like "already chopped up dope" kinda size - which is more what i wanted anyway. Have you tried mixing with dope?? Where do you get your wormwood from? if your intrested this store is on ebay and is only 99c (AUD - thats like 65c USD) per 10g. And one more thing, when you smoke it, do you toke like your smoking dope, or different??

Wormwood has more in it than just thujone. That is not to say that it is very active. I think there is some very mild effects but escalating the dosage just increases toxicity...that is one thing we do know about thujone, is that it is toxic over a certain level. Alcohol may actually decrease that toxicity, but you know excessive alcohol isn't so healthy either. Such is the game of absinthe.
Wormwood is also a really good anti-nausiant as a tea. So if your other methods don't work, at least you can use it for it's medicinal purposes
well i've been experimenting a little since then - I only have like 5 grams left lol!! Ok here's what I've tried and learnt: 1. Smoking it through a bong kills your lungs like 10 x more than dope does 2. the tea does fuck all exept for making you throw up - the taste is like the worst thing i have ever tasted, please dont try it it'll just waste your wormwood and make you sick. 3. I have not noticed any differences in effects from smoking via bong or joint 4. If you mix it with dope, you get a different kind of high - its awesome! 5. Ive tried this once, and am about to try again tonight. You can make "thuge" a wormwood hash by soaking a decent amount of wormwood in very high proof alcohol (i used methelated spirits) overnight covered and then drain the wormwood out of the alcohol and then leave the green alcohol uncovered to evaporate overnight. You are then left with a dark green scum which you can smoke your desired way. Ok so first time I only used like 5 grams of wormwood and becuase i was desperate, i just shook the container for half an hour and then drained. I evaporated the alcohol in a miniture pan i've got (its like 3 inches diametre) on a really low heat. I was only left with like 1/4 of a gram of pale thuge which was more like thick oil. I spread the thuge onto a rollie paper with a knfe and then added a pinch of wormwood before rolling into a joint. I didnt really feel much exept for a mild high and some dissociation. I then proceeded to smoke 5 cones of the dried wormwood. I felt quite stoned but more alert and my imagination was running wild. I went to bed and stared at the ceiling for a while before i fell asleep. My dreams that night were so lucid it was amazing. However it still wasnt what i had expected. The next morning I recieved my MG seeds that I had ordered - but damn there were only 10 - i didnt know how many was going to be in the pack but had expected alot more than 10!!! DAMN! So I jumped on the net and found a journal in erowids about smoking MG seeds - this guy tripped big time by adding 1 seed worth of the dust to the top of his MJ cone and tripped big time!! Ok, so I crushed up 2 of the seeds and added this to a pinch of wormwood which i smoked through my bong. Whoa! I didnt trip persae, but I did feel very very stoned and like i was floating on a wavy sea. It was fun and i again went to bed and had awesome lucid dreams. When I awoke I was very very hungover but without the headache. I then started on a new mix which is now ready for consumption. Its a hash made from wormwood and MG seeds and theres about 3 grams of it - it looks thick and dark and quite potent - im very excited!! I'll post once ive smoked it. wish me luck.
I've smoked "thuje" (haha you've done your erowid research) from MJB-botanicals. It works, and it's definitely better than most herbal highs I've tried.
i smoked about a pea sized wormwood resin from iamshaman and got pretty high, it was very nice with cannabis
