Hello All! I am an art student at the Ohio State University in the United States. I am creating a series of digital images to make a statement about how the internet has reduced the size of our world and opened up chanels to every corner of the earth. I am talking with people in different countries and having them describe a room from where they live. Using only their descriptions I am creating digital images of the spaces. The art piece is a statement on how computers have both opened up doors to international communication, as well as expanding opportunities for artists. If you're interested in participating please answer the following questions, or ask for more info. Here are the questions that will help me recreate a room from your house. Pick any room, and do not disclose any personal information or any information about your location other than your country. Thanks! -What Country do you live in? -What room have you chosen? -Make a quess as to the dimensions of the room. Are there any strange corners, islands, or nooks? -Where are the doors and/ or windows in the room? (it may be helpful to use north, south, east, and west as describers, or to reference objects as they are positioned when you are standing in the doorway of the room) -What is visible in the window (nothing specific, like "the chrysler building". Instead, just say "skyscraper") -What color is the room? Is it a dark or light color? -Is there trim or wood paneling? -Are there any posters or pictures on the walls? Are there lights or fans on the ceiling? -What objects are in the room? Briefly describe them and their location. -What is your favorite light in the room? Is it in the morning with sun coming in the window, at night by candle light, or just by the lights that are in the room? -Is the room messy, clean, somewhere in between? -When you close your eyes, what features in the room pop out the most to you? This sounds like fun...I would love to participate! Here are my answers: -I live in the US -My Bedroom -My room in just a small square -When sitting or stand in my room (facing the door) the door is northeast, my closet northwest, and the double window is south -A small forest -The walls are white with some nice art, african cloth, and posters -none at all -Yes there's art, african cloth/tapestries, posters, memos, jewelry on the walls -The is a bookcase/desk on the right (when facing the door), and my daybed is to the left (when facing the door)...there is a p!nk small table next to the bookcase and a set of plastic storage doors next to the bed with a stereo on top -I love the moonlight shining through my double windows it's so bright and silvery...I also love the sunlight shining through the windows in the morning -My room is a mess...there are clothes EVERYWHERE! -The African cloth on the walls...they are huge both pieces take up one wall
