Right, it's not a world war until it's officially titled one.

Same way we weren't in recession 'til Bush finally admitted we were.

How big does a war have to be before it's a world war? How many countries have to be involved? How far across the globe to it's effects have to be felt?

 

What about China, Africa and Ozland?

I think the scale is a little different to compare whats going on now to the previous world wars.

 

It seems to be a term reserved for something a bit more climatic.
