has anyone else been eagerly anticipating the new episodes from the 04 world series of poker? they start tonight at 9 and i cant wait!

i gotta rant. this whole poker phenomenom really confuses me. i thought old men with beer bellies and their wive's grocery money played poker one night a week. now my younger, 17 year old brother plays 7 card with his friends. on the one hand, gambling's a nasty habit, but on the other hand, most of the money just circulates through the group of friends pretty evenly, so its a cheap way to hang out and have something to do. the real culprit is reality tv. world series poker gives avg. joes a chance at big cash. the person who decided to put it on TV is a genius, because people can feel involved. people aren't eating bugs like on fear factor, or marrying random people, or competing on an island, but they can relate to poker players. "they" includes an estimated 2 jillion people other than me, of course. I hope there's somethign better on tv.

 

They should play 5 chip instead of Texas Holdem. Anybody who knows poker well, knows 5 chip is king.

 

5 chip? do you mean 5 card draw?

 

i think a game high school kids think they're good at draws more viewers.

just because you like to play dosnt mean you think your good at least not on the level of the people who win the world series of poker. its just a fun game to play with your friends and enjoyable to watch on tv.
