In 2000 world population growth was estimated at 1.14%

IF that stays steady compounding annually.

2012 - 7 Billion weighing 469 billion kgs

2100 - 24 Billion weighing 1608 billion kgs

2300 - 383 billion weighing 25,661 billion kgs

2500 - 6,189 Billion - 414,663 billion kgs

3685 - 89,000,000,000,000 Billion people weighing as much as the earth does


Which is of course all oversimplified. But Global population growth hasnt been negative since the 1300s , the Black plague

edit: I see technically the word overpopulation wasn't mentioned but what else would you call it if the global population would weigh as much as the earth itself

 

I think we would have a LOT more problems to worry about than the combined weight of people long before the population could even get to 24 billion.

Well, with the added population, you have to take into account the amount of natural resources we are losing, so that takes some of the weight off.

But with people becoming much fatter these days, I guess it adds what we lose in resource.

The difference between the way the earth looks now as it did just 50 years ago, we've now got all this crap flowing about in lower orbit.

Times that by another 34, the year 3685, 17 centuries from now, we've licked quantum physics and fusion, a lot of us living in orbit maybe, making stuff out of just energy, forget the Greenhouse effect we are worrying that all the extra stuff has thrown us towards Venus
