Congrats! [IMG] I don't have any neices...just nephews. An almost 16 year old and a 7 month old!

My oldest son (he's 7) is constantly making comments that he wants me to have another baby (or two!), he even had a dream the other night that I was pregnant, but I've told him time and time again that mommy can't have anymore or she might get really, really sick. So yesterday he comes home from school and is gushing about how his best friend's parents are going to adopt a brother or sister for him. So now he's got that idea in his head. He cracks me up. :)

    Congrats!!!

HippyChickMommy I feel bad for you. Does your son want a little sister, brother - or just another sibling no matter what gender?

My other niece Zoie is 3 and she is so excited about having a little sister. My sister thought was kind glad that it was going to be a girl because the had tried telling Zoie that it might be a little brother and her reply was I don't want a brother I am going to have a little sister. So now they don't have to try and talk her into wanting a brother.

I am sorry that you can't have any more kids. But it is neet that your son wouldn't mind having another little one around. He is going to ask you to adopt all the time know that he knows that there is an option for that. :D

He says he wants another brother, but I think he'd be happy with any gender really. ;)

Another part of his little "baby fever" is because one of the kids in his class has a brand new baby sibling, and his music teacher also gave birth not long ago. He came home from school telling me all about it, said he got to see pictures and everything.

He tells me a lot that he wishes he could remember the twins being little like that, and that he wishes they still were that way. But, at the time the twins were born, he was only 3.5 years old when they were born, and very, very upset that he had not one new sibling, but two. Talk about a major adjustment for him, so used to being the center of attention and now having to compete with two other siblings at the same time. ;)

Awww, I remember when my mother was expecting my little sister. I wanted a sister so bad! I wanted nothing to do with having a brother, no way! And she and I are 9 years apart. Despite the age difference, we're extremely close too.

Yeah, I had major complications with my twin birth, landed myself in the ICU for a while, came very close to not making it. I had H.E.L.L.P. syndrome, severe Toxemia, and was told later on the one of my twins placentas had become prematurely detached and I was bleeding internally within my womb. I had the first twin (my son) naturally but had to have my second twin (my daughter) taken by cesarean. When they took her out, she wasn't breathing and they had to perform rescue breathing on her. I was terrified, laying there on the operating table unable to do anything while I heard them counting, saying 1,2,3, breathe! I was frantic, I was grabbing hold of my husband and asking him what was happening. He said he didn't know, but he was trying to keep me calm because I was flipping out. Luckily, she was breathing within seconds, although it seemed like an eternity to me. I was able to hold her before they whisked her off to the NICU. My boy twin was in the regular nursery.

At one point, I grabbed hold of the labor and delivery nurse next to me and told her in tears that I didn't want to die. The thing is, I had no idea how close it was to happening. She hugged me and told me that she wasn't letting me go anywhere. But I still felt uneasy, and I didn't even know how severe my complications were at that point, I just had this gut feeling something wasn't right.

I couldn't sleep that night because I was on this major euphoric high after having had the twins, feeling so excited that they were finally here, that they were safe, and I was just so relieved.

The next morning I had multiple grand mal seizures, my liver and kidneys starting going haywire, my blood pressure was through the roof at stroke level, my platelets hit rock bottom, and my body became one huge bruise, I swear, it's was awful. I also had three small strokes. When I woke up in the ICU (I had passed out during the seizures) I had no idea where I was, what was going on, anything. I even thought I was still pregnant, started panicking and told the nurse that I couldn't feel my babies moving. Then, when they finally told me what had happened, I was still in shock, had a hard time accepting that I had been in such a horrible condition. And I was pissed when I tried to feed myself or brush my hair, or write and I couldn't get my muscles to cooperate due to the small strokes I had had. It took me awhile to regain my normal muscle control. Really crazy.

Heck, the twins and I are lucky to even be here. The doctors said that had I not gone to the hospital that day for a routine NST, all three of us probably wouldn't have made it.

Crazy thing is, I had a perfect pregnancy until the end. No bed rest, no restrictions, I was healthy as could be. But during my 8th month, I started feeling awful. I couldn't put my finger on it, and kind of chalked it up to just carrying twins. I would just cry because my whole body was in pain, I kept telling my hubby that my body couldn't take anymore. Little did I know how right that was. My body really was giving out on me during that last month of pregnancy.

The twins were born at a little over 36 weeks gestation though, so that was good, and they both weighed nearly 5 pounds each. :)

But after that, I was told by three different doctors not to have any more children, as I was extremely high risk due to what happened. So...certainly wouldn't want to risk it. Even when I do get that baby fever from time to time.

And besides, I'm lucky to have the three beautiful children that I have. :)

Wow, that is crazy, I am very glad that you and your kids came out ok. Zoie was about 3 weeks early she was about 5 pounds when she was born too. They had to take a uv light home for her it was the funniest things to see a baby glow blue from the uv.

What do you want to know? They are funny especially now that Zoie is 3 is a so funny. She is going to be a performer. She carries a mic. everywhere she goes and sings all the time. She loves gathering everyone around and putting on a show. IT is soooo funny. She has no problem talling people to clap to when she is in the middle of songs she will stop and say "ok clap now" and then finish singing.
