I'll admit I am a Hitchcock buff, a Kubrick nut, and love Corman. But, lately I have been addicted to Woody Allen films. Especially "Deconstructing Harry". I find many of his struggles to mirror my own about writing, sex and frustration with people. Damn. Too bad there are no extras.
I havent seen deconstructing Harry but i'll look out for it. I liked all his stuff ive seen, Small Time Crooks, Bananas, Everything you wanted to know about sex but were afraid to ask, Annie Hall. Thats all ive seen I'll see it all at some point.
Wooody Allen has made some of my favorite movies ever Hannah and her Sisters, Annie Hall, i like all of them pretty much still at it too, loved decontructing harry, sweet and lowdown he's the man
I used to like most of his stuff from the 60s/70s but now I just find him to be stale and repetitive, you hardly see anything original since the late 80s. He just keeps playing the same role in one way or another. I don't understand why he got the Oscar for "Hanna and her Sister" as it isn't much different from his previous works...who cares about the Oscars anyway. "Play it again, Sam" has a scene that gets me every time I watch it: "Anyway, onward to Jennifer. Jennifer (the turbo slut): Allan, I won't deny it. I'm a nymphomaniac. Jennifer: I discovered sex very early. I slept with everybody. Jennifer: My schoolteacher, my sister's husband, the string section of the New York Philharmonic. Jennifer: I want to have sex all the time, play all the time otherwise you're just down, and why be down? Jennifer: The best way to get up is sex. (meanwhile, you see Allan getting hornier and hornier) Jennifer: I'm not like my sisters. They're so inhibited, they never want to do anything. Jennifer: I believe in having sex as often, as freely and as intensely as possible. (finally Allan can't take it any longer...jumps up and tries to hump her) Jennifer (screaming): WHAT DO YOU TAKE ME FOR?" haha, that's gold...gets me every time.
has anyone seen the new one, Scoop? I saw it a couple days ago; it was good, but a few plot holes. worth seeing, but I don't think I'll buy it.
the irony is too funny "ive seen every woody allen movie & loved every one of them." are you sure you watched all of them? he's quite a busy filmmaker.
