Sorry, this may be a stupid question, but why do some women spell 'woman' like 'womyn'?...I hope that makes sense.
so it doesn't have 'man' in it. it's saying that women are separate, rather than derivative, from men. yep.
^^ that is absolutely retarded I'm going to start spelling all my words different, to show that I am the one who wrote them or in my language K.kasdfsdafdas sdklajf;asdlj kasdjf;klasj asdklfjal;ks asdlfkjklas;hj asdfsda asdf trtytr cvbvc erawrew jhggfk wefdj wegwejwefd rsdgrtjv
I've never seen anyone using the word womyn anywhere else except here in the hipforums. It sounds (well, looks) retarded in my opinion, but hey... it's just a word.
Oh well, c'est la vie. I think that there should be a lot more anthrophysilogy research done on the subject.
Obviously it's to inconvenience the man and cause controversy. It's just a preference for some women. I, being an English student, prefer to spell it the standard way. This is a message board, however, and as long as one knows what the other is trying to say, it really shouldn't matter.
I agree. I think it's ridiculous, but to each their own. I'm not going to tell anyone they're wrong for doing it.
I like it, it's different. and who says I can't experiment with language to get a slightly different meaning out of it? it's evolution. been going on for years. (why we're still not speaking old english) Rock On! fuck em if they don't like it
so you do it in protest of men, yet if they don't like it, you'll fuck them? Mark Twain would agree with such experimentation, yet I have one question do you pronounce it differently as well?
I don't see the point in it..... the world women or woman is fine with me. I don't feel the need to make a distinction from men but if that's how people wanna spell it, it doesn't bug me either.
I don't use it. I only understand why someone would. I say woman. But I totally get what she said and I think it's cool. Doesn't hurt me or anyone else, so embrace those who want to.
