Even tho I love Joe Cocker's version... I can't compare it with the Beatles', it's way to different musically, same lyrics, but completely different approach. I prefer the Beatles' version... between soul and psychedelic pop I prefer psych pop.
it's joe cocker's version for me, without a doubt. he turned a really excellent song into a timeless masterpiece. I love his performance at woodstock, he killed it
why does everyone like Joe Cocker's version so much better? I mean, its an ok version, but you can barely understand a word he's singing.
I do not know Joe Cocker or the Beatles, but once I heard a version of that song by an unknown little band with a Paul or something and it rocked!
But you said that Abba did "Light My Fire". You are stating your opinion like everyone does but I find your opinion to be a lot of bullshit.
That is okay, we may not agree on everything, but this is a free speech forum and open for discussion.
Joe Cocker's version is more like a Led Zeppelin style, like Penny said, The Beatles version is psychadelic pop and Joe Cocker's is Soul pop as she says. However it is more accurate to say that Joe Cocker's version is not just simply soul pop, it is Blues Rock.
i like the beatles...joe cocker's is alright but its just not the "with a little help from my friends" i know and love.
It depends on the mood I'm in. Whenever I hear the Joe Cocker version I think of the show The Wonder Years.
Didn't really like Cockers version for several reasons. I don't really like Cockers voice and the harmonies sound very disturbed at times, to name a few. Ringo, on the other hand, has a very lovable voice, and this track was his best preformance.
IS it really? You have obviously not encountered Skip... anyways, I like them both equally, Joe Cocker does give a whole different vview on the song, it's awesome, but the beatles one is amazing too.
