What? They shouldn't put you out. It should just be a local anesthesia. If they fully knock you out then they are just doing it to get more money.

you will be under sedation, but not general anesthia. Of course there is a theoretical risk of death, but I have NEVER, EVER heard of a patient dying during a tooth extraction. I wouldn't be concerned, in fact, I LOVED IT! I got an IV of sodium pentothal, a strong sedative, and diazepam, a sedative/muscle relaxer. It was a blast!

I got all of mine pulled under local, too. Don't think they ever use general anesthesia for that overhere, although I heard of some folks in the US who had a general, too. I'd just stick to the local, I didn't get anything but a local painkiller, no IV, no sedatives, it was okay, even though my teeth had sorta nasty hooks at the roots.

I got General when they took my wisdom teeth out... I was terrified.. Just like you... Id never had any surgery and was scared I was never gonna wake up... I lived with the pain of my wisdom teeth for about 2 years before i couldnt take the pain anymore.. It keeped me up at nights .. It was bad... I also have alot of issues with needles.. They always have issued getting needles in my arm.. so when they were hooking me up to the tubes they were fighting with my veins.. I was crying... Next thing i knew i woke up crying still (which was hard with cotton and blood in my mouth and the medicine they give you to dry out your mouth) I got up and went home... It wasnt as bad as I though it would be... I wouldnt want to ever go through It again but it wasnt to bad....

I also asked if i could keep the teeth... Which they were very nice and gave them to me in a little sealed bag :)

Its okay... It will all be okay... People have it done every day... Its a really really common procedure and youll be fine...
