And the Maine economy loves it, too! I've been told that one out of every 6 jobs in the state are connected to tourism is some fashion. Kittery is also the closest Maine town to Boston. This is what I woke up to today. This was just before local sunrise at 6:05 AM. Took the picture at the stroke of 6 AM. The Maine Medical Center is in the middle background, on the hill (Western Promenade).
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ If you go to Kittery you must see the Sir William Pepperrell House (1682) in Kittery Point
Somewhere in Kittery, there is a really really great candy store. I went there once. And I've been to Portsmouth a few times--lovely town!! I recently visited there and had some killer pho at a perfect little corner restaurant. It was so, so warm in there, a very welcomed thing after a few hours of walking around in the bitter cold.
I love that second one. In a time when everyone is a photographer with a decent phone camera.. I actually kinda like lower quality pictures.
It's cool you can appreciate that, there are some photos I take on the phone that have a quality of surrealism to them, which is interesting I suppose, but for a standard photo, I prefer the way that depth, colors and shade can really be distinguished on some of the double lens cameras on pricier smart phones. Price, durability and battery life won me over with this phone and it delivers on all those. I've had enough issues with prior smart phones to be content with a functioning phone.
And yet I've only been into downtown Portsmouth maybe twice ever...despite living next door in York County, ME twice. I normally pass through on the bus with I-95. Also, a certain big green bridge connecting Portsmouth to Kittery, ME is getting rehabbed starting April 1st. Meanwhile, over in Springfield, MA...THIS!
