Exactly there’s a natural whirlpool or vortex in the water which causes the ice to form into a circle and spin. ....or as some irrational people have suggested (ancient alien theorists) it’s a crop circle in water
nobody named it yet? ok, i'll call it Fabulous Sands Wonderbeach. only because i'm assuming Beachy McBeachface is already taken.
I am not too sure what this constellation is. I originally thought it was Orion's belt but I'm unsure now as it is more vertical than horizontal.
That's an amazing picture, Irminsul It's not Orion.. That's my favourite constellation because it was in a children's book I had.
Comparison shot at around 6 AM Eastern. Sun hadn't quite come up yet. We've got at least 6 inches easy. No wind at all...which is quite unusual for a snow storm here!
The storm really over-performed we got 12 inches, and a few areas in Southeastern Massachusetts like Canton received upwards of 17 inches
I made a summer thread because it's summer 2019 here in NZ and will be almost summer by the time I'm home.. I'm keen to not be the only one who posts in it : P I forgot about Spring.. Can add it to the title : )
I under estimated what fell in central CT. One nearby town is Newington, CT. Their town center received 10 inches. Monroe, CT, which is closer to the Housatonic River, received a foot. Oddly, our largest snow storm before this one? November 15th!
Which New England bridge is nicer? The twin Whittier bridges, which span the Merrimack River between Newburyport and Amesbury, MA on I-95. The Piscataqua River Bridge, which carries I-95 between Portsmouth, NH and Kittery, ME.
