I've spent the last week making wine (starting it anyway) and I do this every year at this time because of the abundance of ingredients around. The rest of the year I make wine with whatever I can get and make a lot of mead too. Anyone else make wine/mead here?
my brother-in-law was a beer making fool-- a couple examples were hemp beer and pumpking beer----home brewed was healthy and potent
Yeah, haven't tried making beer. I've tasted some really good home made beers though. Might give it a try one day.
Spent the whole afternoon picking yesterday (I reckon the baby ate more than I picked!!) and now have some blackberry and elderberry wine on the go. Also have some honey beer in the shed. I want to try nettle wine next. When the elderberry is done I´m going to add some blue lotus, then mushroom wine in a few weeks. Which wines do you make in the winter Lea?
made a couple meads before, they came out very nice, blackberry wine as well, never tried making grape wine. done a few beer brews, some ok some flat out terrible. mostly work with sugar for making base alcohol for other things like green dragon or absinthe.
