I've been using this music program to rip music off the internet. After it successfully grabs the song, it immediately adds it to my Windows Media Player. Now I don't take these songs and put them on CD or on an IPOD. I just like to listen to them without having to go on websites, logging in, finding the music, etc.. Its just easier to listen to it all on my media player. Now my question is, sometimes it will go into its own music file and other times it'll go into an unknown artist section. Does anyone know how I can move the music from Unknown music and organize it into separate music files? For example, lets say I want to listen to Portishead (an amazing artist if you never heard of her). I'll click on the file that says Portishead. Now I might have 20 Portishead songs but only 6 of them show up that file. The rest are scattered all over the unknown music section so I have to track those down and it gets annoying. I might also have OCD too cause i just want them all organized. Does anyone know how to take these songs and put them in the artists file? They don't seem to move from the unknown location.
You need to edit the ID3 info for the songs. I'm not on a Windows computer right now, so I can't give you exact instructions. Right clicking on the song should show an option like 'edit info', 'get info', 'properties', etc. Click on this and edit the artist, album, etc. The player will then group it with the others. You can't really just move it around manually: the player has its way of organising things. And by the way, WMP sucks. Download iTunes or Songbird.
