Will my hair type dread well?? :-)

Hey all! Below is a pic of my hair... I was just wondering if you knowledgable folks reckon I could do dreads with my birds nest?

Also, how long would they end up being? Straight my hair reaches my butt, curly, well you can see in the pic.

I've twisted my hair loads of times and they could stay in forever all by their lurvely selves if I didn't give in and wash 'em out after a week.

Anyway, looking forward to your advice

Ah thanks guys! My husband isn’t sure about me getting dreads, thinks they’ll ruin my hair
He’s helping me twist them this weekend though, so we’ll see what happens after that…
Any ideas how long it'd be afterwards?

 

Hmm...well, I don't/didn't have curly hair, but my hair was straight and about as long as yours is now. When I backcombed my dreads, they shrunk all the way up to above my shoulders. But, I think it might've just been 'cause I did 'em really tight.


Your hair will definitely shrink, but since it's curly, I doubt it will shrink as much as mine did. Dreads will look so lovely, and will form so easily in your beautiful curly hair! Good luck...

I had stick straight hair, and it took FOREVER for it to lock.
