Well the government protect them because the corporations give them money, funding elections etc. Basically the corporations have great influence over politicians. Thats why it's important to be careful of who you give your money too.
No, business is about making life easier on others. If there was no supermarket, you'd have to kill your own meat, grow your own plants, etc. But, we are willing to pay them a little more money than the product is truly worth so we don't have to do it.

define own? do you feel that you are? they can own your car, house,maybe even your engagement ring but they cant own you or me that is only somthing you can pretend to give them!!!! none but ourselves can free our minds!! can they own that witch they cannot grasp??
It doesn't make life any easier on the 2/3rds of the world that get under a dollar a day to live on.. and usually the ppl living in those places don't have easy access to masses of water, food, or places to spend their money. Working 3 days for a meal at McDonalds isn't what I'd call easy.
