I find it funny that I was born into the family that I am in. I have a total different opinion about everything.

For example, my family could care less about the war and if anything they are right handed war mongers. Some of the statements that come out of my families mouth make me wonder how did I exactly become the way I was.

I got into a conversation with my grandmother one day about George Bush and my brother had stated, “ I like the fucking guy, he’s killing off all the towel heads and brining me gas.”

I could of tore at him and screamed in his face for hours but I didn’t bother for that my opinion doesn’t matter in my family.

As long as I can remember, I have been called a tree hugging hippy. They cackle and laugh at one another about it.

I always say that I’m proud to be one. For that I know that what I believe in is right for me and will be for as long as I live.

I’m just still stuck with the question, why was I born this way and how did I become the person I am?

Without people like John Lennon, maybe I would of turned out to be just like one of them. It’s scary to think of but true.

"you can choose your friends, but not your family"

Just be who you are...if you like yourself you are already most the way there....

    I'm glad your you...

You are able to "Think" and "Work things out for yourself"

Congratulations on realising you have a "Head" !

ha ha, I know what you mean. I'm basically in the same situation. Whenever I talk about politics my family looks at me like I farted.

Bare It! is a strange place to have posted this.

You are certainly not the first or only person to find himself unlike other members of his family, you know. Deal with it. You are who you are, and they are who they are. If your brother is a dolt who can't think his way out of a refrigerator box, so be it.

For the record, the proper expression is "COULDN'T care less," not "COULD care less." If you couldn't care less, that's saying that you already care zero, so it's not possible to care any less than you already do. It's a way of saying, "I don't give a shit."

Also, "could HAVE," not "could OF." What would "could OF" mean, anyway?
But the verb construction "HAVE + verb past tense" means "did do this or that." "Could've" is a contraction of "could HAVE," not "could OF." You're familiar with "could've," right?

Glad I could help. I COULD HAVE just ignored the post... ;)

    Blue skies,
    -Jeffrey

    Oh, I see.

    Hows this?

I read your post, but couldn't give a shit about what you have to say, because you're awfully condescending.

    How's that?

I agree on your comment on the family though. Just love them as they'd love you. Because you're family doesn't mean you have to be alike.
