    So, we're hated
    Dennis Prager

...Turning to hatred of America, the same questions and answers apply.

Either America is evil and hatred of it is merited, or America is a decent country and the haters are evil.

The correct explanation is so obvious that only one who already hates America or who is simply morally confused would choose the first.

To assess the veracity of this, all one need do is compare America -- a country that has liberated more people from tyranny than any other, and which has been a place of refuge, tolerance and opportunity for more people from more backgrounds than any other in history -- with those who hate America.

Militant Muslims hate America. These people include the Taliban of Afghanistan, Al Qaeda and other Muslim terrorists, the Islamic regimes of Iran and Sudan, members of Hamas and the many Palestinians and other Muslims who support it.

Now, what types of people are these, and what societies have they made or seek to make?

To call the Taliban primitive is to insult the many primitive peoples who were light years more civilized than these totalitarians who forbade girls to get an education and prohibited women from such innocent activities as going to the zoo. They murdered anyone who loved liberty, beheaded any Muslim who converted to another religion, and blew up some of the most priceless sculptures of the ancient world because those works of art were of a different religion. Is it a good or bad reflection on America that the Taliban hated this country?

Al Qaeda and other Muslim terrorists seek to impose Taliban-like regimes on everyone in the world, beginning with the Muslim world. They routinely slaughter innocent people -- literally slaughter, as cutting off the heads of their human sacrifices is their preferred method of murder. They are monsters in human form. Is it a good or bad reflection on America that Al Qaeda and other Muslim terrorists hate this country?

The Islamic regime of Iran has taken one of the brightest nations on earth back into the darkest past of human civilization. Their great ally is the genocidal regime of North Korea. Is it a good or bad reflection on America that the Islamists in Iran hate this country?

The Arab Islamic regime in Sudan has killed about one million non-Arab, non-Muslim blacks in the south of its country. Rape and enslavement of these blacks is routine. Is it a good or bad reflection on America that the Sudanese regime hates this country?

Hamas and its many supporters among Palestinians have developed a new theology of cruelty and death -- that a Muslim boy who blows himself up while maiming and murdering as many innocent Jews as possible goes to heaven where he is then sexually serviced by dozens of virgins. In the annals of the history of religion, no analogous theology of cruelty and vulgarity has ever been devised. Is it a good or bad reflection on America that Hamas and its Palestinian supporters hate this country?

One more point. When you look at the roster of the America-haters and realize that none of them hates France or Sweden, this assessment of America-hatred is rendered even more obvious. America, largely alone, calls these groups and regimes what they are -- evil.
America, largely alone, wages war against them. America, largely alone (with Israel), prevents them from assuming far more power.

As I said to my synagogue on the Sabbath after 9-11, "I stand before you as a proud member of the world's two most hated peoples -- Americans and Jews."

That makes some good points. :) I just still can't be convinced that we didn't have any part in causing all this hatred ourselves, even if we only instigated a little bit.....which we probably didn't...

I think we're easy to hate because of our pride and self-righteousness, which is amplified by the crazy Texan in office because, hey, bigger is better, right? :D If we were a humble country that was respectful of all the nations around us, we wouldn't be in as big of a mess.

Considering the title of your post is:

    Why They Hate US,

You DIDN'T GIVE US AN ANSWER!

Why DO they hate the US?

Either answer, or get off your pulpit.

I agree that these countries have bad attitudes, but hey, that's THEIR CHOICE as sovereign nations. They can hate who they want just like you.

The real problems are nationalism, religious fundamentalism and lack of education. In those countries mentioned AND The US of A.

So, we're in the wrong because our ally asked for help? To prevent a fundamentalist islamic regime from taking control of a large country during the midst of the cold war? Before you bash our past actions, consider what the world was like then.

We overthrew a moderate, democratic government and installed a corrupt dictatorship in its place in order to maintain control over Iran's oil. The Islamic revolution of 1979 was largely a reaction to this neo-colonialism. If you want to have an intelligent discussion, try actually reading the article first.

    See my signature quote.

Yeah, well, show me a truly admirable head of state.

While not perfect, we are a far more multicultural society than most. You English and French-speaking Canadians can't even get along!

That's a better average than most of Europe's history, not to mention Asia or Africa.

This is wrong, but it's hardly unique to the US.

What "we" are you talking about? You have some kind of "solidarity" with the Taliban?

Our astronomical abortion death toll is truly shameful, but somehow I doubt that's what you mean. Please elaborate.

Like the many Asian nationals in our graduate schools?

what about the slaves. people haven't forgotten the slavery with movies based on the civil war and the railroad. they natives were robbed of their land. in canada they tried to assimilate them. not the taliban, but just people in general who "hate" america. we hate some of the asspects of the country as many do with all other counties. abortion is a women's choise and bush wants to take that away. to me that's saying he hates women. he hates the choises they make and he'll prevent them from legally and safely have one. even thought they aren't that safe to begin with. but niether is getting a tattoo, since there is a potenial to get skin cancer or there was back in the day

Don't preach your black-power shit to us about slavery. They already want reparations for something they never exprienced, they also have the highest crime, unemployment, and drug abuse rate of any race. Not to mention delevoping a ethnic language that butchers the english language. Let's go deeper into the slavery issue. Do you know any american black person over the age of oh say 160? Hell no you don't so why do we owe them anything?

when they make the movies about the civil war or racism, they have to, in a sense relive wat their ancestors experienced. when ever the n word is uttered generations of hate and ignorance is relived.

Whenever a black man says that a hate crime was commited because he was beaten after refusing to cooperate after being caught speeding while on drugs, generations of stereotypes are relived.

And it doesn't occur to you that the crime, unemployment and drug use is due to the second class status in society?

Well back to the original post, do you relize that those arent the only factions who hate us? Its nice to fantasize that the only people who hate us are the ones we go to war with, but it simply isn't going to happen.
Grevious: Who is this "us" your talking about. Your not schitzophrenic are you? You do relize that blacks are still oppressed today. Don't believe it? Watch a black man get arrested compared to a white man. Notice which has the gun drawn and pointed for the head shot. No I'm not talking about the show COPS either. Ever been inner city? It happens. I'm pretty sure you wouldnt feel the same if your ancestors were treated in such a fashion. I wonder if you live in the south? You sound like the kinda person who as a child who got the "Racism is a thing of the past" speech in school. Lemme tell you, its alive and well in southern states. The word ****** is used all the time in these parts and its not followed by a compliment, as you can imagine. Are you also telling me that white people dont resist arrest? I've had actual friends on X who assulted cops, but that doesnt make the news. Instead people like to focus on the black man because they make easier scape-goats do to racial stupidity, and fear. As for ebonics butchering the english language... take a trip to Europe sometime and see what they think of Americanese.

I've been paying attention to a local news story that about 5000 Mhung people are going to be settled in my general area. It's interesting to me since we already have a pretty large Mhung {SE Asians} population here, and I personally know quite a few of them.

Based on the experience of the people i know, I feel pretty confident making predictions about what will happen to this new group of immigrants.

Within 6 months they will be learning the English language. The men especially will be passably proficient within a year. I know it's not PC to say the men and not the women, but that's the predictian anyway.

Within a year they will all have jobs, both men and women, and will go to work every day. It will not be long before many of them will become inspectors or quality control people, because they pay careful attention to detail.

Their kids will go to school and in a year they will be fluently bi-lingual. The kids will become so Americanized that their parents will have all the standard American problems with them --- tobacco, drugs, too much TV etc.

Within 3 or 4 years they will be firmly established, and will:
Know all the best fishing spots in the area, and be the best fishermen there.
    Buy Houses,
    Plant big gardens,
and Buy Toyota Camrys ---- Yep Camrys --- they love them.

These are people who have had REAL Troubles. Not Post-slavery syndrone, but Real trouble. All of them will have friends and family members die in war or refugee camps. Many of them will bear the wounds of war on their own bodies. And they will delighted to be in America, to be free, and to make their own lives better.
