Because we're not *praying*, duh. Took me awhile to figure that one out. It's why folks say "It's not a gathering till Felipe arrives" .... Because he makes people pray! Ya know, it really wouldn't *hurt* any, to simply stand in a circle, observing silence, for a time at some point during this nonsense known as the "Ocala Gathering". It would be even nicer if we threw in the morning silence, as we do in July. I think it's really awesome, and it lets newbies know that we mean business, about praying for peace. -gaia
last ocala gathering i felt that it was somewhat of a playground in a beautiful way.. i felt that many people there were there for their first times, and i thought that was lovely too.. ...and then there was yoga camp heh
"Why the Ocala "Gathering" doesn't work" ? Cause there are too many people wondering why the gathering is not living up to THEIR expectations... instead of utilizing it for what is IS without any expectations on what it should or should not be? Bet there is a lot of "preying" going on already..... it is Florida after all.
It was my first gathering, since then I have also attended nationals. And I think you put it perfectly. The Ocala Gathering "worked" for me.
maybe *you're* not praying... there's nothing wrong with the ocala gathering... it is what it is... all Ocala needs is for you to go and shine your light.. if you don't like something about a gathering, the great thing about it is that *YOU* yes YOU can do something about it.... get out there and spread some love
I've never been to Ocala. But I've spoken with many that have personally. Some of the complaints I hear about it are that: 1 Too many at A camp 2 Too many road dogs 3 Too many transients 4 Too many people in general Being a gathering in the dead of winter in Florida, one can expect it to be "off". The argument, "There is not enough love or prayer" is a bunch of bull shit if we be honest with ourselves. Every year about this time I see this same thread...Ocala is a consistently bad gathering...even before it starts. Thank you.
have you ever heard of manifestation? or the idea that you create your own reality.... but I guess it's a good thing you don't go to Ocala since you already "Know" it's bad... two years ago Ocala was my first and worst gathering ever... but I also overheard Grandpa Woodstock at that same gathering saying about how he'd never seen so much love and how amazing it was the way the family was growing..... maybe I'm wrong though.. maybe it's not a matter of perspective... maybe my family is just schwagg..... NOT
You cannot create reality. Reality is. You just perceive reality. I wouldn't go to Ocala if I were paid too. Perception is everything. People are people whether they claim to be family or not.
one reason i like ocala so much is because of all the road dawgs and transients. some of the best family i know are travelers.
:smilielol5: rainbows are rainbows weather they claim to have bellybuttons or not... I'm so annoyed with all of this I'm going to Ocala just so I can post about how awesome it was...
eh, well, AS A NOMADIC BUS PERSON/URBAN CAMPER, i rather prefer the road dogs. they've been places and done things you would never believe until you start talking to them. of course i guess i'm a little more open minded than some, since i've been on the road for 30,000 miles & 2 1/2 years now. oh yeah, and i married one of those ocala a-campers... a wonderful husband & father and a mad slinger of ink. we've been spreading joy & (tattoo) pain to family all over the country. speak no ill of that which you have no knowledge of.
hey cno, it is not letting me send you a message ,, probably because you haven't enough posts here on the thread,,, my email address is magnanimity@gmail.com, send me a message... i live in south florida too, and look forward to attending ocala. say hey~~
I see from the posts that some believe the 'gathering' "works for them", whatever that means. What *does* that mean, to you? The reason I ask, is that the foundation of the gatherings is the prayer for peace that began back in '72. *ALL* of the elders (by that I mean, those who have seen and understand a Vision of the way things *could* be, and that without a whole lot of trouble) that I have *ever* spoken to, agree, that the reason we gather in July is to pray for peace -- and that everything else is groovy but peripheral. My thoughts, which coalesced recently into the comment I posted, are primarily that we should include this. And I fail to understand the problem folks have with that most fundamental idea. gaia
