Don't think so. Statistically, not even close--as shown by positions of state legislators and governors on tort reform, product liability, and pre-existing conditions.
Well trump is the current face of the Republican party............................ More voters think Donald Trump is a racist than thought George Wallace was in 1968 A Quinnipiac University poll out this week shows that a majority (51%) of voters believe that President Donald Trump is a racist. Forty-five percent say that he is not. Compare these numbers to a Harris poll from September 1968. Former Alabama Gov. George Wallace, a segregationist, was running for president as an opponent to the Civil Rights movement. As he campaigned, 41% agreed when asked whether Wallace was a racist. That was basically even with the 40% who disagreed with the statement.
Where I live, Republicans are very much racist. Which is something I don't get...why everyone makes this big deal about Iowa. I guess they just don't realize that these aren't the respectable upstanding people we're rumored to be. Gay people practically have to hide their identities around here.
We could have strict immigration laws and personal accountability without racism. All the Bernie bros like me like Norway. If you look at those parties beyond them being socialist you some polices that favor the Norwegian working class. They also welcome Muslims and even though some have caused trouble most do not. Like a high tax on any import that is very right wing. I sold something from Ebay to Sweden which is similar. The guy asked me not to use the offical Ebay checkout and say I mailed him a "gift". Ebay will register it with customs and he would have to pay like $50 on a $200 item in extra tax since he dared get a product outside his country.
In Colorado the Republicans pushed hard to get caps on medical malpractice cases to help the rich doctors and screw the victims.
They don't need the liberal media telling them how to feel or what they see! They got dark cows in their fields right now. One of them is bound to be a chocolate cow.
Interestingly the only black Republican member of The House just announced he won't seek re-election. Hurd was one of only four Republicans in the House to condemned racists comments made by President Donald Trump. That's the sixth Republican this week to announce they won't seek re-election. That leaves one Republican black in the entire Congress, both The House and Senate. Up until 1932 in The House they were all Republican, 21 of them, many former slaves. Since then there have been 125 Democrats and 6 Republicans. Currently there are 54 black Democrats and no black Republicans. Prior to 1979 there were only ever 2 black Senators. Since that time there have been 3. Tim Scott is the only one that remains. There have been 6 black Democratic Senators. 2 are still in office. I think that sums up how the two different parties stack up.
I’ve often wondered about these Federal judges being nominated by T-Rump and rubberstamped by the senate.... does the DOJ provide them with new black robes OR do they have to dye their white ones??!
So, let me get this straight, one former CIA agent wants to get back into a line of work thats probably a lot more intellectually satisfying, where he probably gets paid more.....and some how its about race? I'm not going to disagree with you that the numbers of african americans in the Republican Party is an eye brow raiser. But it is a problem the world over that we dont pay politicians enough, they can earn 10 times more in the private sector or sometimes more in another public service position, and the job itself is somewhat uneviable in itself: boring. This one particular case doesnt mean anything other than he just wanted a more exciting job
He's the only African-American Republican member of the House, and one of two in the entire Congress (the other being Sen. Tim Scott)--so yes it means something. He's one of six Republican House representatives to resign, deepening the party's minority status in the House. Whatever reason he gives, it's got to be frustrating being shut out of power as a House Republican.
The point is, as you seem to agree, blacks aren't exactly flocking to the Republican party. I wonder why? I'm surprised that you think politicians are underpaid, the usual rant in about how rich they are. Look at all the people criticizing Bernie Sanders for his book deal.
Will Hurd made it pretty clear why he was leaving. https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...e9942c-b4b8-11e9-8949-5f36ff92706e_story.html
Well that article the direct quotes from Hurd dont really match up with the writers claim thats why he left. There is maybe the full interview with Hurd here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/powe...27745c-b487-11e9-8949-5f36ff92706e_story.html But I have run out of free stories with the washington post, so cant see it Is there a direct quote or interview where Hurd says why he left I am actually interested (although not interested enough to pay for the washington post ) as this Hurd guy sounds like he was quite the catch for the GOP This one smells more like its about Pence and his cronies But just based on that article you linked his reason for leaving definitely wasnt "pretty clear"
