Why people believe Americans are stupid

I don't think this represents the majority of the American population, and i'm sure it has been through a very biased editing process, but still......it's beyond shameful that any segment of our population could be this obtuse.

This makes me want to see Mike Judge's latest movie that seems to have slipped under the mainstream radar... "Idiocracy"

 

I suppose its easy to demonstrate your point when you are controlling the production and asking the questions; some of the answers were shamefull though. It can often seem to be about America's overall lack of real interest in the world beyond the USA, after all most of the questions were about that.

I think it's that America is so much ritcher than the rest of the world we don't care that much to knoiw things when we can hire someone from a poor country to work the rest of there lives for us, just to stay in this country. My teacher said it much better. Not all AMERICANS ARE STUPID BUT i asked my frend Matty (iRELAND) who Stalin was and he gave me a detailed bio on him. When I asked my class mate he actually thought Stalin was good! I almost laughed. I know its not all but for some reason American children have a harder time it seems retaining info.

 

God those people are dumb! I wouldn’t worry too much though as I’m sure you would get similar results the world over. We certainly have our fair share of Tards here in the UK. Anyway, you would have to be pretty stupid yourself to form an opinion on an entire population based on something like that.

When I watch American cartoons an shows the French are aolways wearing black and white stripes, smaking and saying the same french fraises like "sough rai blugh" ( I totally cant spell that). Actually I think why people outside the USA think youre all dumb is that the vast majority of us are just simply a lot more intelligent and have a much better understanding of what a good education is. You also dont make very good comedy and one certain way to be sure there is an intellect is to find a matured sense of irony - this sails over most American heads I know - because we see Hollywood films and laugh our tits off at how dumb and naive they are compared to dutch, french, iranian, british, and Italian cinema - youre hard pushed to find an ounce of intelligence thats gone behind any cutural export from the USA and you only import what we make sufficient for you guys to understand. If its got a car chase and a cop, or someone shooting guns, hey thats great you guys are happy and we love watching your smiling retarded faces - but put in anything with plot complexity and its like watching chimps getting bored with the tea party

I think to sum up - we think youre dumb because you dont ever prove youre not dumb in your cultural exports

Ask any Russian kid now who Stalin was and they will tell you he was the best thing that ever happened to Russia. Ask yourself this, If Stalin was so bad how come Rhumsfeld, a mass murderer equivalent in stature to Stalin is not derided in such a manner? yet he and his buddies in the pharmaceutical industries are responsible for the deaths of MILLIONS of people around the world dying from Aids because these hero's of the USA couldnt afford to cut their own fat off their wage packets so the drugs could be cheaper.

Also some of your own leaders were responsible for absolutely hundreds of millions of deaths all in the pursuit of exactly what Stalin wanted for his people -

Wow, don't hold back sentient

Our lack of education and humor is a funny thing - It feels terrible to have so many people smarter in the World and yet they struggle with issues that we worked out long ago in America. To base our (education) intelligence on our Hollywood movies and some selective literature (not to mention our current crappy leaders) is a little harsh.

We care very much how the rest of the World sees or views us... we just wish they had a real idea of our thoughts and concerns as a people, instead of what is projected in our politics and media. Hell, only in this Country can we tell the most popular candidate by votes that they can't be President -

We're not stupid or uncaring, we just sometimes have a hard time getting that across to our powers that be - not unlike some other Countries with issues and decision-making dillema's. It's America! It's sometimes Fu**ed up, but we get to say so!

You might as well ask why people believe any stereotype. It's just that. There are the intelligent and lesser so in all countries. I think a lot of people don't agree with the American Government and perhaps might think they are "stupid" and there for that statement over flows onto the people of the country also.

 

An ignorant populace is a compliant populace.That's what we have here and that's why our education system is so lacking.It's on purpose.It's the only explanation I can think of why we allow the lousy leaders we have.Those dolts that said "whatever bush says is ok with me"are the result.

 

people are stupid everywhere, "sentient" being a fine example that anyone can buy propaganda and REALLY REALLY CLING TO IT. like it's life support. there will always be someone who has to step on someone else to feel bigger and better.

 

Just an example: at the place I was working we held a poll, the question - Do you know Pushkin?/Who was Pushkin?. Most extraordinary answer we got: "Pushkin? We don't have that in the fridge"=///
