there r junkies, there r crack heads n there r tweakers, however rarely do we see someone popping e on a daily bases.. why is that? im pretty sure if i asked, 90% of the people on this board would consider mdma a more pleasurable experience than opiates for example or benzos... yet alot of people r addicted to xanax, oxys whatever n few if any r addicted to e.. i would like to knw what makes meth more addictive than ecstasy... personally i prefer the heroin n coke high over ecstasy but that doesnt seem to be the case with most people..
That's very obvious, and is usually addressed in even the most basic introductory literature to those drugs. If you knew what any of them did, you'd probably know.
I have seen people who are "addicted" to MDMA. They pop them regularly. I do not see how this would even be enjoyable in the slightest. After taking MDMA you have no craving for the drug, I guess when you come down you wish for the feeling back, but a rational person would never think to pop another one. Being addicted to MDMA would make you fucking crazy!
there are some people that roll everyday, they're called rollie pollies. (or however you properly spell those little bugs). I don't know that much about specific details, but the difference between an opiate from mdma are pretty clear-cut. Opiates deal with nerve receptors and chemicals that create a dependence because of the imbalance. Mdma deals with chemicals like serotonin, that if imbalances occur, just disrupt the flow, as opposed to chemicals that can't be repaired that easily. For example, I read about how the nerves and recepetors in the body it reacts with on heroin, deteriorate from use. That's as far as I know.
The feeling of rolling is VERY addicting to some people. But humans can get "addicted to anything" like world of warcraft for example. It is not a chemical dependency like with harder drugs, but I know people who rolled every weekend. I don't know how that would work, after a while all you feel is the other shit in the pills and a placebo I'd think.
im a very experienced coke/heroin user n no i dnt find the answer obvious.. it might be obvious when it comes to opiates, however thats not the case with coke n meth... i agree its pretty hard to roll everyday, n ud probably go crazy but isnt it the same as tweaking everyday? nicotine, opiates, benzos n alcohol r physically addicting however meth n coke r like like ecstasy, its a psychological thing, yet people kill, steal, suck dick for meth or crack but its never the case with e... with coke the high is so short n ud start thinkin about the next fix the moment u do that shit, n its not as intense on ur body n mind as mdma so thats probably the case, but meth is fuckin intense, n its LONG yet people tweak...
1. tolerance, you would become immune to mdma quickly 2. crash, the comedown would eventually be unbearable and you would have serious neurological side effects
i feel like im gunna be addicted to it. honestly. last week i tried coke for the first time...it was ok...but too short and coming down sucked. i tried ecstasy 2 nights ago for the first time and it was amazing....i smoked some bud to come down and i was fine. fell asleep at a reasonable time, didn't get sad. it was them ost amazing experience ever and honestly, all i can think about is how it felt and that i want to do it again right now. i don't know if this is normal though.
Thats normal mychem and dont worry shitty comedowns/hangovers from e come in due time. My friend said his first roll was the best experience of his life, why wouldnt you want to do that again. To the op coke and Meth have a much stronger effect on dopamine, which is essentially a pleasure/reinforcement neurotransmitter. MDMA effects dopamine to a degree but its primary effects are on serotonin which regulates mood. this is why when you initially use coke and/or Meth you may not even find it addicting but the more you use it those reinforcement receptors keep getting stimulated and then It creates a desire for the drug. MDMA users usually seek out that serotenergic rush, it has more of a tolerance issue so redosing or using multiple days in a row only goes so far before its no longer really effective.
perfect answer, no one could have said it better... this is so true "this is why when you initially use coke and/or Meth you may not even find it addicting but the more you use it those reinforcement receptors keep getting stimulated and then It creates a desire for the drug." first couple of times i tried cocaine it wasnt that of a big deal, so i kept doing it to find out whats all the fuss about, n the rest is history...
They're not that addictive because all MDMA does is release the chemical in your brain which makes you happy instead of supplying it with another one.
Yes. But cocaine damages the dopamine release, MDMA does not. They are also released and carried out in different ways. Which is on coke you feel the same comedown but for longer. At least I think that's how it works
You're going to tell us MDMA doesn't damage serotonin neurons at all? That's a load of elephant shit. It's been proven in rodents and while it may have been overstated originally in humans, it's still controversial and there is supporting evidence to affirm that it does.
cocaines damage to the the dopamine release is nuthing compared to meth.. oh n btw my mdma comedowns r much longer n much more unbearable than my coke comedowns... atleast with coke u wake up fine the next day or the day after, plus u can avoid the comedown by taking benzos or opiates.. however with e im fucked up for a week, emotionally, e takes something away from u that i just cnt describe, I HATE ECSTASY!
I didn't completely confirm it I said I THINK that's how it works. Jeeeeez man. No room for fuckin' error on the forums
Hahaha. This is a fairly serious topic so naturally I think people's response will be less lenient and forgiving.
it's because it doesn't affect dopamine as much. dopamine is ur brains pleasure "do that again chemical". it's released during sex, eating (especially high calorie foods), and other things that would be beneficial to the survival of the species. dopamine basically controls you. if eating makes you get +10 dopamine, why eat when you can get +100 from meth? and that's when you get addicted - because no matter what you do or what you accomplish that dopamine rush from drugs will always be more rewarding. that's how the reward system works. i don't believe mdma effects dopamine much which is why there's no compulsion to do it again
