Why is pot illegal??

hey guys, im new to the site and just wondering why you guys think pot is illegal. i smoke pot almost every night and got to wondering why exactly pot is illegal. i mean, the only idea i could think of is all the brainwashing they taught in school about how drugs are bad. someone please help me out!! thanks!

 

it became illegal because of racism and stays illegal because of money.

 

Racism, eh? The only stoners I know are white; I've yet to meet any otherwise, except one; a friend of mine who is mexican.

 

pot smoking came from the black communitee, like long ago. the first whites that started smoking pot were white jazz-lovers in big cities, the beats

 

back in the day before it became illegal the majority of users where latino and african americans.

 

it's untaxable, because it's a very hardy plant and seeds are ubiquitous, especially if your dealer is trying to short-sell you (rather common around my way)

 

Pots illegal because its one thing that if it was legal it would releive anxiety and the system is making us anxious telling us dairy is good for you poisoning our veggies and obsessing us with material posessions in order to kill us and blind us from the way of life that is peaceful and long because the man is greedy and the faster we die the richer he gets our entire way of life is so opposite from how were designed noone even knows the natural way to live

 

atleast we're not yet paying outrageous marijuana taxes. i don't really have a problem with it being illegal, i'm going to smoke it anyways. i do think that possession laws are a little extreme. it is JUST weed, man.

 

I'm not sure as to why it is controlled, but in my opinion, I think it'll eventually become legal in all states. Eh....but who knows.

 

with my luck they will legalize it when im on my deathbed.

if pot was illegal because the gov. didn't want us smoking it, the gov. wouldn't be bringing it into the country. it's illegal for reasons said before about it being untaxable, but also because it gives them a reason to arrest poverty stricken individuals who have little or no other choice than to sell it. they get tax dollars from us for every pothead they put away, and only use a portion of those taxes to feed and cloth those individuals. they want us smoking it because it makes us ok with our monotonous lives. as long as we're high, we sure as hell aren't rebelling. what are we doing?!

 

What the 17 year old said, they don't know how to tax it. But not only that, because that is the ONE thing that Americans demand. Legalize it. Legal, legal, legal, you let them get away with that, later on their biggest concern is when we get the rest of the people going...

Plus, their idea is well their all like 30+ rich spoiled politicians who don't smoke weed, and all they know about weed is what they have been told, which with science is negative, constantly. According to the government, weed is only good if you have cancer. Only.

chances of budda becoming legal are so low...Oh well, i dont really care till i get caught cause i always get my daily ammount anyway lol.

laRueda you will care when you grow up an every job has random drug tests. Unless you want to work minimum wage jobs. ive been arrested a few times cause of weed and did my time everytime and that shit dont bother me, its the not being able to get a job. We should have rights, we should be able to possess and ingest anything we see fit.

 

Most drugs which do no harm are illegal due to politicians shitting lies, and as we all know politics are the ruin of the world... Most drugs that aren't even harmful are banned, and we know from the illegalization of medical marijuana that the government doesn't give two shits about human life or suffering.

I think we're close to legalization, though.
